How long have you been a Town fan?

Ha Ha. Footballers and dog walking. Reminds me of a dear departed former work colleague of mine. He lived in the same village as Lineker. Lineker used to walk his dog past my friends house every day. And every day Linekers dog pissed up my friends front gate. Lineker just shrugged his shoulders and said, "He's a dog!".One of his many claims to fame. God bless him. Smile

saw a few games in 1966 with my big brother and was hooked but once i was 12 was allowed to go on my own,
remember the great season we got promoted never missed a home game, used to watch in the main stand, pain going in the shed
it was full of idiots mainly skinheads from dewsbury and heckmondwyke!!been down sarf since the 73 but still go whenever i can,
going saturday as i'm back up north for a few days so hope that's a good game and a few points for us, best memory the boxing day game against sheff utd the year we got promoted , was on the woods bus from mirfield normally loads of time, got in as the game kicked off coudn't move the whole game as it was so packed in the main stand, god knows what health and safety would say now !

Good memories there, essex. Not sure the Woods buses are still running these days. Longstaffs are though.
Who's your local team down there? Sarfend?

Surely Colchester a better choice; blue and white stripes and all....

We used to go in the Airedale for that, but went to the Dusty and the cricket club when we came of age. I got thrown out of the Dusty Miller once for not cheering when England scored against Germany.

It was indeed Mirfield Parish CC - not far off opposite the Dusty Miller. We had a mate that used to live down that way, but in the end frequented the Airedale more as I tended to sleep over with the friend who lived that side of town more often (I lived in Huddersfield at the time).

They let me back in later that day, to be honest. It was a ludicrous reason to throw me out.
