He is saving Varela for the Stoke game Beefy. The same goes with Gardner and Pocognoli.
I'm expecting a good amount of changes for the Stoke match to freshen up the starting 11 and the squad as we have 3 matches in 7 days, today being the first of the 3.
Ideye with his first league goal. A fortunate goal is what he has needed for a while.

Second half was a non event really. Unplayable conditions.
Gamboa did himself no harm when coming on. Looked sharp, full of desire and good on the ball. I'd personally like to see him come in for Pocognoli, who I'm starting to realise is nothing more than a good athlete.
The 2nd half performance (or lack of it from Man City) will keep Irvine in his job again. Hopefully we're not still in the spirit of giving Christmas gifts for the Stoke game.

Didn't watch the game and had a much calmer day as a result.
Realistically all we could hope from that was that the other results went our way and I think they all did bar Hull winning.
From QPR, Man City and Stoke I would have expected 3 points minimum with a hope of 4 - fail to beat Stoke now and that would be 0 or 1 points from the three games. Unacceptable and relegation form. We are now averaging below a point a game, and with our run-in we can't afford that.

NEGATIVES:
Ben Foster has turned into Scott Carson
Joleon Lescott has turned into Ryan Donk
Our attacking line with its wealth of international experience is in danger of winning the Barn d'Or award for services to spooning absolute sitters
Sadly, this is probably the best line-up we have
POSITIVES:
It snowed. Snow is nice.
