Albion squad top 10? Don't make me laugh.

Our squad is no better than average. The league table doesn't lie.

Around the top 10 not in the top 10 (i was counting 12th and above!). My opinion is the squad isn't to bad we are solid in most departments they need a huge kick up the arse though which under Irvine won't happen. I am usually critical of our squads especially last season when i kept saying it was very poor despite people believing it was our strongest ever after the summer window closed, but in the right hands i reckon we would be nowhere near the relegation places (points wise) at the end of the season

Our squad is in no way, shape or form relegation fodder.

'The league table doesn't lie' because a moron is picking the team and leaving our best players out.

It's clear to most people who watch football that our squad is stronger than plenty in this league. We have at least 2 good players for each position. We have a guy who was a star player for a side who won England's world cup group at a stroll who isn't deemed good enough to start by the coach. We have another player who scored a Champions League goal at the Nou Camp who isn't deemed good even good enough for the bench.

Our squad is comparable with Swansea City / Stoke / Aston Villa. The only difference is, they all have managers who have a clue.

None of those will go down, but we probably will if Irvine stays in charge.

Player for player, our squad is superior to the likes of Burnley, Leicester, Hull, QPR, Sunderland, Palace. They have probably 0-4 players who would get into our first team. However they aren't propping us up, because our manager is completely clueless.

If JP knows what he's doing, the search for Irvine's successor is well under way and preliminary talks will already have been held, and there's an outstanding candidate just waiting there. No more messing about taking the cheaper option, we know now it's completely false economy - peanuts and monkeys spring to mind. When PL income is of the order of £70 million a season, we can afford it. The head coach's role is the most important job at the club and we've got to get it right.

I do hope that you are right Aries.

IMO if we do not replace Irvine during January at the latest, then we are in for a very worrying relegation battle which, given that the players themselves seem demoralised, we will inevitably lose.

Slick and Aries,

You've sum up the whole Baggies situation for me.  If we get the right man in motivate them, the players are there.  With our squad we should be comfortable mid-Prem table, at least.   Angry
