Marvelous views of the bloke in front's bald head, or 'is moossus's gob as she gnaws on a crusty eel pie. Oh sorry, that's Orient. Pie 'n' mash 'appen. Could be some exotic foreign meal too round there. If you don't like what the club sells, walk about 200yds down the road and you'll pass a restaurant or takeaway from just about every place on god's earth.

Transport for Larndan calling

The obvious tube journey on those pretty yellow, pink and green lines from Kings Cross, Euston and all those other stations that go norf of Watfud or run along the river is not wuckin' this weekend guv. They are all shut while Bob the Builder lays some new tracks or fixes the signals or whatever else he's doing for double time this weekend. TFL website directs everyone down to t'Central Line, that's t'red'un on most tube maps if tha can't read or write proper like, an' it runs thru t'middle of that there Larndan and tha get's off at t'White City. Al'reet?

Should be a reet bloody scrum after t'final whistle darn there tha' knows.

Tenuous Link Time

Tis a pity that the pretty pink and yeller lines aren't running, as it makes it really difficult to buy
Half price cracked ice
And miles and miles of carpet tiles
TVs
Deep freeze
And David Bowie LPs.
Ball games
Gold chains,
What's-names
Pictures frames
And leather goods
And Trevor Francis track suits.
From a mush in Shepherds Bush Market as there won't be any tube trains running through this station.

I know, I know bruv, I'm not the first to bring this up, am I Rodders? Rodders???

In addition, a few steps further norf, there's a stop on Ladbrooke Grove where tube trains won't be calling this weekend.

This was (in)famously mentioned in one of a certain, soon to be mop-topped Leo Sayer songs about a busker trying to earn a crust while being moved along by the old bill. The lyrics reference Ladbroke Grove, an area of northwest London that surrounds Notting Hill and North Kensington, and the name of a road that runs between Harrow Road and Holland Park Avenue. Ladbroke Grove has strong music roots. The psychedelic rock band Hawkwind formed there in 1969, and several other songs reference the area. Van Morrison spotted his "Slim Slow Rider" walking down by the Ladbroke Grove; Pulp jabbed the region in the vengeful 1995 tune "I Spy," singing "Your Ladbroke Grove looks turn me on, yeah, with roach burns in designer dresses"; and Blur's "Fool's Day" mentioned riding a bike through the area.

Per the video, young Mr. Sayer had caught the eye and ears of a certain fish farmer from East London who was an occasional singer with a band. Who was he? None other than that there Roger Daltry wasn' it me ol' china? Charlton Fan Rog, was signed up to the same record label and was working in the same studios. He snagged the first dibs and dabs to some of  Mr. Sayers early works. Well what could the young lad do? He was just a boy, giving it all away. In later years Roger was allegedly heard to say "Oooh, wooh, oooh, yeah, well I know better now, don't I guv.  Wink Laugh

We've lost to 'em before

They are just in front longer term but we did the double on the way up. After last weekend, owt could 'appen in this division. We might even score a goal from open play. Don't put your mortgage on that one though.

Last time out

We came second to Derby, and that was before they signed some lad called Rooonski from some unknown American club, while they made the big spending lads from Smoke-on-Stench look piss poor again. Who hasn't these last two seasons, apart from us that is?

Hey big spenders

They've spent bugger all this season. Mind you there is perhaps a reason behind this. Remember when they bought their way into the Prima Donna League a few seasons back when they ignored the Football League FFP rules? The EFL sharks were circling for their eventual demise and drop back into The Chumpionship and fined them £42 million (give or take). Well they spent an arm an a leg fighting that for gawd knows how long and eventually settled on a £17 million fine and £3 million legal fees payable to the EFL. So they likely also spent at least that much on there own briefs too (or was that underwear?). Haven't looked at their accounts but their briefs are probably richer than them at the moment.
https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/qpr...-with-efl/

In spending bugger all, they've got former Both Ends striker Hugill up front on loan from The Yammers and our old mate Nicky Nahki Noo has jumped on the Euston Express from Manchester after leaving Burnalee on a season long loan deal.

Probably also explains why their supposed attempt at building a new stadium at Wormwood Scrubs, while Bren'fud are supposedly spending their last season at Griffin Park and building a new stadium about half-way between Loftus Road and the Brentford Flyover. With land in that there Larndan at a price that is a premium over a premium, outsiders would question why they would want to build separate stadiums, Stadia? Stadii? That said, what do outsiders, especially those outside football, know about football and the rivalries that would make that a match made in hell and not heaven?

Innies and Outies - both teams

If they'd jumped in quick they could have had White City Stadium, but some dodgy developer bought it and built some resonable priced housing on it. Yeah, right, guv.

Pies, Pees, Pints and Places to go shopping while your Moosus watches the match, how to get there and where to avoid
As usual - it's all in here, I ain't copying and pasting this lot. Westfield shopping centre is by the tube station.
That there Larndan Tarn is a pretty little place and there isn't much to see there that wouldn't take at least a month to take it all in. You'd still miss most of it even then.

I'd wander down to the river by Hammersmith pre-match if wasn't for the fact that it's likely going to be a half-hour walk back up to Shepherds Bush.

On a more solemn note, Grenfell Tower, wrapped up in a big plastic bag isn't that far away either.

OK folks, for those of us that are going, enjoy the game. For those that aren't give Oggy and his hair dresser some stick and for those in foreign climes, see if you can watch us on the tellybox  (or some streaming service or another).

Brilliant thread again theo Thumb up
I'm not holding out much hope in this game. Think we are in for a long hard season after that terrible transfer window.
Lose this and Siewert will be under pressure. Win this and we can start to think about a good season. Draw this and breathe a sigh of relief.

Nice one theo Thumb up

Good write up about songs about the local area. What songs I wonder, are written about the area surrounding our stadium? Deighton Rifles? Something by Rick Aspley? Or just Dirty Old Town by the Pogues? Whistle

Of course there is the song by Iron Maiden....Sherriff of Huddersfield.
No joke...it's a B side on their single Wasted Years. Apparently their manager was from Huddersfield and it's about him.

Kiyan Prince, if you were wondering, was a 15 year old boy playing in the QPR youth team, who was murdered in this appalling wave of London knife crime. There will be a minutes silence today for him and all the other victims.

Points a point but wtf Jan was thinking that we could hang on to a 1 goal lead for 40+ mins beggars belief. 2 points dropped by not standing on their necks when in front. More pounds in the kitty though. Come on Snoots, pick Grant, you know it makes sense Laugh
