Having had 48hrs to think back on the match I have come to one conclusion. AI has to go!
I do respect what some of us think and actually admire people for trying to stick by the guy but as a manager in any position (i.e not just football) if you just stand by and watch your team completely fall apart and fail to even attempt to sort things out then you’re putting your position in to question! I mean if my accounts team were on target and completely fell apart towards the end of the month and I just watched the whole thing unfold I’d be expecting my P45 the next day! And before anyone else says what more could he have done, it was obvious we were starting to lose the bit in midfield just after half time and so a sub HAD to be made! I was literally screaming for Mulumbu or Yacob! You could see that 2nd and 3rd goal coming. Yes the goals were from set pieces but, those set pieces should not have happened! Stick Mumubu or Yacob in to break up the play and break the momentum. Its basic! Also, in terms of lowering our expectations, QPR will be a championship team next season and so to, let’s be honest, throw away a 2 goal lead to a championship side is unacceptable!

Ideye will come good, he created the second goal with his movement. Just needs that bit of luck and they will start going in. He has shown enough to suggest he isnt a donkey and his past record shows he can score goals. I can't fathom why he has been put in ahead of Saido though, its madness.
Bring back the Yacob - Mulumbu axis, our best ever PL midfield that got us to our best ever PL finish of 8th, drop Championship Dorrans and Championship Morrison, and play our own pacey attacking RB ahead of sideways Wisdom. Then all we need to do is instill discipline and basic set-piece defending into the players and teach them how to hold on to a 2-goal lead. Better still, appoint a head coach/manager and a backroom team who know how to do all of the above. ![]()

Good post 1996, agree with all apart from maybe Mozza & Dozza; still think they have a lot to offer at Premier League level BUT things need freshening up and I agree that they need to prove themselves more. However, if my memory serves me right, Mozza was a lot of people's MOTM v Villa......in the last game??!!! And sorry - Dozza's goal v Man City last year (...our next opponents) wasn't the work of a Championship player. The point re Yacob/Mulumbu is crucial though - however isn't YM off in Jan to the African CON??

Good post Fox, the buck has to stop with the man in charge, and yes he must identify where the problems lie and do something to rectify them, sadly AI can't / won't do this.
At least he has started to give varela and ideye a run but again, why at the expense of saido? Incidentally rumours are rife that saido wants out in January. I've got to say I'm in the mulumbu yacob camp as well, but do think mozza and dorrans could still be integral to the squad. Anyway, back to saido, cash in or hang on, what do reckon?

Saido's got attitude.
You can tell from his body language. He could turn into another Odemwanker.

No wonder most clubs beneath the top six can't get a reliable goalscorer for love nor money. If you've had one decent season and banged a few in, hey presto, you've earned yourself a transfer to a "big club" where you'll never be seen again. If you're a teenager and just have the potential to bang a few in, you can earn yourself a transfer to a "big club" where you'll never be seen again. No work ethic required. Money for nothing and chicks for free. So we're all reduced to scrabbling after the unknown mercenaries looking to prove themselves (hoping they've actually got the talent to score for a while before they do one) and the 25-year-old has-beens who've been chewed up and spat out after three years in the Chelsea or Man City reserves (hoping they still care enough about football to lower themselves to scoring for us, even though there's literally nothing in it for them beyond more money to add to the mountain).
To be honest, I don't blame the players, because most didn't grow up in luxury, and you'd have to be as mental as they come to turn your nose up at easy money which could see you and your family sorted for generations to come (though my sympathy is inevitably tested to the limit when I read about some ex-pro who's declared bankruptcy after betting five million quid on a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos). But it's rotting the game from the inside out, and only getting worse. It wasn't this bad even five years ago. I dread to think what kind of sport we'll be watching by the end of the decade. "I would rather spend a holiday in Tuscany than in the Black Country, but if I were compelled to choose between living in West Bromwich or Florence, I should make straight for West Bromwich." - J.B. Havn't posted much this year because I'm still trying to figure out who plays for us after the biggest change of players ever and.....still cannot accept playing in anything other than blue and white stripes. Just have to write this season off as "experimental". Happy Christmas to all.

Players are too settled under Irvine(Keily and and Downing)
JP will not sack AI before January transfer ends and if he does who would be his replacement ??? It took 10 weeks to appoint Irvine who was nobody's choice. In short looking at our last 5 games we are on serious trouble.
