I do think we have to be careful before writing off players, Rondon was a great example. IMO there was no doubting he was a class striker, but even the best strikers of all time would not be that good if they usually got the ball in their own half because they were back defending, our style simple did not fit with his style of play. Hopefully Zohore will be a different story and just to wet the whistle a little https://youtu.be/VNcEkw-WB7g

Thanks Salopbaggie, my Whistle is not as dry as it was earlier today
I agree that all good strikers need "feeding". Under TP that was never going to happen. That man should NOT be anywhere near a Club ( unless for the Dingles or Seals).
Let's hope that KZ proves me totally wrong.

Matt Wilson has just tweeted about Hegazi..
Apparently had a ankle problem towards the end of the season played through the pain barrier etc
Now we knew this and still let him go of to the African Nations cup and this has made it worse
Definitely not starting the season so be prepared for some incoming bad news !!!

I haven’t really seen him play so I won’t comment on his style. He is 6 ft 2 so suits what Bilić wants in a striker, like he had with Demba Ba and Andy Carroll.
Looking at the Cardiff forum, despite his height, they suggest he's a striker who plays on the shoulder rather than a target man.
Comments suggest has a bit of pace to get in behind and decent on the ball. Quite a few slating him for his lack of presence in the air and work rate.

Hegazi‘s ankle injury is manageable, but it may require surgery.
If required, he’ll miss the first few games.
There’s a chance that Hegazi will play on and fix it later. He played through the Playoffs with it too.
He is back at WBA on Monday, when a decision will be made. #WBA https://t.co/XKDWhVFMhL

Thanks for that Salop, that was a pleasure to watch and if he can do that regularly then I think he will do Ok for us.
Positives - He is the right height, fast, brushes people off, right age. Some cracking goals, good mixture of with feet and head.
Negatives - Goalie should have saved a few of them, more the earlier ones than the late ones. Not many goals in the premier league.
He is saying the right things as well, so I am starting to warm to him, 8Mill may be a bit on the steep side, but forwards who can score are few and far between. We really needed a forward so may be that's what we had to pay. I have heard that the 8Mill includes add ons and the initial fee is below that.

Semi Ajayi is in.

He played in defensive midfield from January onwards so we’ll see whether SB will play him there or in his natural centre back role.

Make off this what you will !!!
New signings Kenneth Zohore and Semi Ajayi on the Baggies bench, while Kieran Gibbs is not in the squad at all. Been told Gibbs has just got a knock, not that he's off. Apparently gone to see a specialist. https://t.co/25OqqwHOeD

Krovinovic..... sounds like a fan's favourite in-the-making already ?

He is the missing link that we have missed in midfield since the early days of Sessegnon and before that a younger and fully fit Morrison and of course Dorrans in 09/10.
If we can get a secure midfield base, whether it be Harper alongside Livermore or Livermore alongside Field like today or Ajayi in there with Harper, then Krovinovic in front of them should be able to flourish. At Benfica he would play with 1 sitting midfield behind him, a winger on either side and 2 strikers ahead but we are not a strong enough side to do that.
I’m also pleased to see O’Shea getting game time. It’ll be nice to have another one of our under 23’s playing regularly this season rather than just in pre-season and then out on loan.
