Hearing the same regarding Rodgers how is our academy worth anything when we have kids from the year dot and prime them for others
We have now list two of our brightest prospects in the same week to Barcelona and Man City
Can I swear ?
xxxx great !!;

Manchester City are poised to sign highly-rated West Brom teenager Morgan Rogers (16).

Talks are advanced between the two clubs over a compensation package with City recognising huge potential in the attacking midfielder amid interest from Premier League rivals.

I can dust off my boots if needed. I'm 60 but i'm sure i can last 10 minutes ( 5 more than Sicknote Sturridge). Come on SB GET SOME DECENT PLAYERS IN!!. There is mention of Charlie Austin... your thoughts?

Let's not blame Barry or Rogers for moving on to better bigger clubs. Let praise our Academy for producing such good talent. Let's shoot the people running our club for allowing it to happen.
On a positive note our slush fund should be £70 million

BB - can't blame the kids, or IMO the club, I blame their advisors, agents & parents.
It would be interesting to see if the academy is actually paying for itself. Hard to calculate, but it seems to me that every big talent is off when other clubs come calling

Just what is the FA penalty for not being able to field a team?? We must be getting close to that now. DD Angry Angry

Look if the kids go they go nothing we can do about it. There parents see the £ signs reported that some of the Man City kids are on 30 grand a week , well if they don’t make it by the time there 21 they can retire . You cannot blame them what is wrong is that the big clubs can pick them up for peanuts has to stop we’re not the only ones Fulham kid on way to Liverpool . We educate them and put them on the right road the big clubs cherry pick and send them out on loan before they break down and play for lower league clubs . Thorne brown sinclair to name but 3. All they see is the money

Currently we have 19 players in the squad. Take out Rondon and Rodriguez and it’s 17. Add Wilson, Fitzwater and O’Shea to pre-season training and we’re up to 20.

Easy solution...
Close the academy and save 2.5mil a year, if the massive clubs can just come along and take out most talented kids for next to nothing. Absolute joke ....
