Leeds lost and this was a chance to move up.
All over now.
If lucky we will hang on to a play off place.
But if we do, what chance of winning a knockout game - zero!

May as well start the team write up now
Johnstone - 2/10: Embarssingly schoolboy error gifted Millwall the lead
Holgate - 3/10: Poor crossing, basic passing gone astray, weak and disinterested
Hegazi - 2/10: Sleep walked, own goal and red card for kicking ball away twice, disgrace
Adarabioyo - 3/10: Unreliable, weak
Townsend - 5/10: Tried his best, limited championship player
Livermore - 3/10: Didn't notice he was on the pitch, fat pudding offered nothing
Brunt - 3/10: Walking pace football and passing sideways with the defence. Woeful.
Johansen - 6/10: Best midfielder, good shot first half and clever pass for penalty
Kanu - 4/10: Fell over a lot, played out of position, poor throughout
Rodriquez - 2/10: Did nothing over than miss a penalty won by Gayle
Gayle - 5/10: Clever movement to win penalty, starved of ball
Murphy - 2/10: Switched play by kicking the ball into the stand
Manager - 2/10: Clueless selection and formation, worst of Big Dave, slow playing it out from
the back with team full of OAPs in the midfield.
Tactics: Not sure we've had any although when in possession we do enjoy passing the ball as slow as possible sideways as much as possible, particularly between Brunt and the defence. Terrrible.
Only Johanson and Gayle can hold their heads high.

Villa will be a problem for yuo if they keep up the form they are in. We dominated the second half of our game but the missed penalty hurt us, as well as losing a couple of players to injury, but you could see the confidence Villa had and they never stopped trying and got their somewhat lucky reward with two goals in injury time. They didn’t deserve the win but they fought hard for it, thats what good teams have to do to win games when they might not have been at their best. They have to be favorites for the playoffs as we stand today!!

Best I hope for now ...... a win over vile to knock them out in the semi-finals, then lose to Bristol city at wembley, give them a chance at the prem, we are nowhere near good enough to go and I don't fancy a season of thrashings and humiliation. A play off spot is more than we deserve, off now to buy a deer stalker and a bowie knife, also to book a bear grylls survival course ........ gonna need them for a long stay in the wilderness.
Where are all the "JP out" brigade now, I did say, be careful what you wish for ......
All our years of hard work ...... completely undone, another sixteen years of heart ache.
Cheers SCO, you really know how to put the boot in ....... glad I am nights this week, won't see the smarmy vile fans .......

Depends if we get ourselves a decent manager or not really.
Player for player, we are more than a match for the Vile, but at the moment we have someone completely clueless in charge, who picks players in the first XI who shouldn't even be making the bench.

Don't agree Villa have Adomah, Grealish and Mginn in midfield buts it's OK we have Brunt and Livermore, they also have a solid defence....

Don't really agree with that rating for Townsend, thought he was really poor. About 1 in 4 passes go to West Brom shirts and the rest are just booted anywhere. He's so weak defensively, it's like watching an U14's player play with grown men. He never engages the opposition and just backs off. I think he's a League One player at best. Surprised you have rated him above Holgate, who did do a couple of bad crosses, but was by far our best defender and is the one player in our side who actually understands that you have to tackle the opposition.
Wouldn't give Robson Kanu anything as I thought he was absolutely dreadful today.
I personally thought Livermore had a good game and passed the ball well. I thought Hegazi, Adaraboiyo, Townsend, Brunt and Rodriguez were all dreadful, so it's a bit harsh to rate him on a par (or even below) some of them
Do agree that Gayle and Johansen were the stand our performers though. It's almost like our loan players have something to prove, where as own contacted players are just going through the motions.

At the moment Villa have a much better midfield than yours and in Abraham they have someone with confidence in front of goal. The playoff though are all about momentum and Villa have that at the moment. The final is a bit of a crapshoot, its who turns up on the day, but the semi finals tend to see the form team progress!!
You are right about the manager situation though, Villa made their switch and immediately brought in one of their targets in Dean Smith, someone I have a lot of time for as a manager, you guys sacked Moore and there seems to be no plan to replace him. You need someone to galvanize the whole club for the last 6 weeks of the season, no idea who that might be but it doesn’t need to be a star manager, you need to do what Manure did with Ole to push you into the playoffs.

Big Sam anyone??
May be slick think I have just given him 5 because of his limitations
Apart from a couple I was tempted to give the whole lot 2 or 3 tops,
Worst performance of the season by a country mile,
Bristol will batter us Tuesday if we don't change personnel and quickly, starting with Jenkins

Grealish is a top midfielder at this level.
Wouldn't put the other 2 names you mentioned above ours though, especially Adomah, who is a Championship journey man.
Do you really think he's any better than Jacob Murphy? I don't.
But like I say, it depends if we get a good manager. IMO, Brunt shouldn't be anywhere near the side in midfield anymore. I would play him at left back if Gibbs was out, but that's about it.
The key is getting a manager who doesn't insist on square pegs in round holes.
Against Villa away, we had 2 holding midfielders with Barry and Livermore and Harper just in front and we wiped the floor with them. Although, the key on that day was Gayle's suspension, it means we played with 1 central striker and we looked a better side for it. We need a manager who is ballsy enough to drop 1 of Gayle or Rodriguez, my choice being the latter, so we can actually operate with a formation fit for purpose.
If we had that, we can match up with anyone in this league, player for player.

I do agree they would beat us at the moment, but that's largely due to the fact we have someone clueless picking our team, rather than the fact they have better players.
Grealish apart, they don't really have anyone outstanding. Abraham is a good striker, but Dwight Gayle is excellent too.
With Shan in charge, I don't think we could beat an egg, but let's not let his clueless sections fool us, we still have a relatively decent playing personnel.
