Lenny leaving Hibs!!?

Lawyers being involved mean trouble and expense for one of the parties, no matter what the exact circumstances are. And there's only one winner there!

From David Gray's comments, it would seem that the meeting was not the problem, but could have instigated the lead-up to the suspension. IF the training ground argument got too heated and abusive and IF an unknown person reported it to the board, then I can see where that could lead to the suspension. The board have every right to know what is going on at their club and possibly took action on an HR issue, as suggested by 0762.

Pure conjecture, I know, but this would fit in with what we know to be true and also why no-one is making any public comment on what actually led to the suspension. A very slimmed-down version will no doubt be issued in due course, but will miss out so much as to be virtually meaningless.

He's deffo the best manager we've had in a long while IMO, his record against the old firm and the points tally last season bear that out. But he's clearly overstepped the mark somehow behind the scenes and we are going to have to move on.

We've had bad luck with injuries and the new signings haven't really hit the heights and I think frustration got the better of him. There is only so many times you can do the public slating of players and expect it to work.

IF lawyers are involved it will be to arrange a mutual agreement and he won't be getting sacked for misconduct.

We're forgetting the fact that Lenny is ONLY under investigation and could easily keep his job but things do look bleak for him.
After he lost the dressing room it became a major issue and that usually finishes in the manager losing his job.The hope he has is if a compromise can be reached, that sounds very doubtful in this case.

There was no player delegation to Leeann Dempster, I've heard that from a very good source. A lot of the players liked and respected the manager and were shocked by his suspension.

Talks are ongoing between leeann, petrie, lennon and SDG currently, Then petrie will likely make the decision on the way forward. Good chance that may will be taking the team again at the weekend.

Briefly moving away from this issue, I must say, as a backing shareholder of the club, I was reasonably optimistic that Hibs would gradually catch up with the Dons' consistent level of attainment in the Scot Premiership under Lenny's stewardship and positively supported by the board "without going overboard on the financial front"! That optimism has been greatly dented!!! Sighhhh!!!

Reading Brendan Rodgers' pragmatic comments re Neil Lennon's position with Hibs and I concur with some of the comments and particularly the vulnerable position of footie managers in a modern footie culture when it comes to the extreme side of dealing with players. I wonder if Hibs officials will note some of these comments from a footie manager who is very good at handling players and media.
Looking hypothetically at the Kamberi situation, I see a footie club, HFC, investing a fair amount of money in a player who performed well last season while on loan and I think the board would expect him to be one of the "first picks" when he is fit. However, what happens when he becomes a "shadow" of the player he was within months of accepting a decent contract? Drop him? Try to motivate him? Then what when it doesn't work? Possibly assess if he has a more effective position elsewhere? Give him a "free ride" with little criticism?

According to SSN both parties are close to reaching an agreement and there may well be a hibs statement in the morning.

hibeejim21,
Good to see your earlier comment that there was no player delegation to Leeann, I got that info from one of Saturdays rags which proves the reporters motto "never let the truth stand in the way of a good story" and if what you say above is true the rags have been feeding us horses##it all along.
Still hope to keep Lenny.

Well said! The media (predominantly unionist??) line was that Lenny was "definitely" out and won't be Hibs manager any more! I thought the suspension by Hibs dispelled that "opinion"/insinuation and we'll just have to wait n see if something positive comes out of this story.

I think it's very unlikely Lennon will be back, I think it will be a mutual consent parting of the ways with little said by either party that will allow Lennon to get another job and us to save a bit of money.

I think on the main Lennon will be remembered fondly in time by the fans, and we move on.
