LAST MATCH

Our mini unbeaten run came to and an end and we fell t our first home defeat of the season as we gifted Boro all 3 points with some schoolboy defending. After a even & dull first half we were quickly 0-2 down 10 mins into the 2nd half. The defending for the first goal was poor but the 2nd was far worse as Lees thought he was as good as Franz Beckenbauer, but then remembered he wasn't as he slipped in the Boro player with ease who squared it for Assombalonga to score easily. Reach scored another beauty with 10 mins left and there was a mass scramble on the line in injury time, but that was about it. We were poor and sloppy and although Boro weren't anything special they took the points thanks to our generosity.

THE MATCH

We move on after Friday night and make the trip down to London to take on QPR. Rangers haven't had a good start to the season overall but have managed to win 2 of there last 3 games. Goals have been a problem with only 11 scored in 13 games so far. Paul Hurst is there manager, who some Wednesday fans wanted as manager, it will be interesting to see how he gets on in his first season in the Championship. Its the kind of game we need to be winning if we have any thoughts of a playoff spot come the end of the season.

THE TEAM

I expect Onomah to be back in the team after not seeing any action Friday. If Lees wasn't captain he would probably be dropped but as he is I don't think Jos will.

My team (343):

Westwood Whistle
Neilsen, Hector, Thorniley
Palmer, Bannan, Onomah, Penney
Preston, Winnall, Reach

Actual team (532):
Dawson
Palmer, Lees, Hector, Thorniley, Penney

Nice one, Kev.

Three points is a must here, after the disappointing result against 'Boro, we have to pick up.
Lees should be dropped, I don't think the pressure of Captaincy has helped at all. Hector would be a solid signing for us at this stage, he's vocal at the back and has performed well.
I wish we wouldn't run backwards away from the opposition, we need to press and challenge for the ball, force mistakes.
Every time, we run backwards giving up yards of pitch allowing for crosses and pressure, it's fking madness!!

Press Conference:

JL: Winnall has a hamstring injury picked up in U23 game on Saturday, will be a few weeks Doh
JL: We need to be more consistent.
JL: QPR have a good philosophy and it will be hard work to come to three points, but we will give 100% to come to a good performance and result.
JL: When my team have the good feeling and confidence, they can play fantastic football and we have seen that this season (And there's the consistency problem, seen it too fewer times)
JL: When we play at home or away, we try not to be too different in our style, we try to play good football and, of course, we want the win (I didn't know we had a style)
JL: It unlikely Hooper and Lee will play for us again this year, they have been out a long time. Hopefully they can come back to the team in January (not too surprising tbh. January? maybe he should have said never instead Thumb down Thumb down Thumb down )

We must have the best injured eleven in the league Doh Doh Doh Doh

Disappointing picture Owlskev. Once Hooper is fit again, we should try and sell him. No use to us as he's injured most the time.

I agree with you also about dropping Dawson. He just doesn't inspire.

Figurative "picture." What those remarks by JL taken as a whole say about our prospects.

Kev, Paul Hurst is manager of Ipswich, not QPR!! Steve McClaren is manager of QPR.

Not surprised Winnall has had a setback, you often see that from players who are returning from a long injury layoff, the key here is its not the same injury, which is what we have seen with Lee for instance. Can't see Lee and Hooper ever playing for us again, shame because both of them would definitely contribute to this team and how we play!!

Onomah has to play in this game, maybe give Penney the night off.
