... yup, ok... I know there's a huge amount to say against the bloke, and I was also, in the end, wanting his head for all the negativity he brought to our playing style and our reputation.....
... but I still love his forthright way of talking. Quoted after the win tonight that takes his team to the top of the league:
"Now we've just got to stay level, keep calm and remain competitive. We've won a game of football, that's all. People get too carried away when you win and too carried away when you lose"

Tonight was typical Pulis football from Boro - solid in defence, good on the counter and ended the game with 4 CHs across the back!!!! Just a shame we didn't show up at all because they weren't that good, had we played as well as we did in the first 80 mins of our game against you we would have won tonight!! This division will be close, there doesn't seem to be any team head and shoulders above the rest, so playing tight defensive football, like Boro do well, will likely see them stay up there. Playing Keegan style football like you seem to be doing, with the quality you have up front will also likely see you guys up the top all season as well!! For us, midtable is more likely!!

Pulis is a sneaky thief. Builds boring teams and kills supporters.

Love him or loathe him, if we finish the season above his club, we will get promoted.

Absolute Dinosaur but not without a modicum of talent hence why he lands bigger jobs than Cambridge Utd

Howard Wilkinson when asked about the long ball style of Football Leeds United played when winning the title referred to it as "Winning football"
Graham Taylor was another who really understand the mathematics and such behind what is sadly called "The traditional English game" lamenting if Glenn Hoddle did it then it was a pass, if Nigel Callaghan did it then it was a long ball
I have seen in my team Wimbledon stifle Liverpool at probably their finest most cohesive team ever, Allardyce`s Bolton play Wenger`s Arsenal off the park, given the success of Scandinavian teams and National sides too have have also had success with these tactics

Not sure about Pulis as a person, he comes over OK in interviews yet a mixed bag from ex professionals
