Some Positives

Not from the first team obviously but from the youth team who won away at Huddersfield under the watchful gaze of John Pemberton and are currently lying 2nd and the CFC Ladies who pulled off a shock to beat Burton Albion 1-0 in the FA Cup.
Question; Is John Pemberton being groomed to take over from MA or will he forever be with the kids ?.

Well ..... your positive nature is looking bloody hard for positives Pooch!

Huddersfield seem to have a very dubious attitude to youth investment. Great that we won, but our manager said he was using every available player at Maidstone, yet Levi Amantchi (our most promising youngster) wasn't there and only on the youth team's bench. I really do wonder how long it is before we turn him into Ricky German.

If Mr Pemberton were being groomed to take over, who would be grooming him - AC? Would he bother, or even know how?

As we so rarely produce a youngster who reaches first team level and/or being sold on, I've started questioning the economics and effectiveness of the whole operation. I'm thinking scrap the whole operation. Recruit no-one under 16, start picking up promising discards from other youth operations and run a second team in a competitive men's league. The side-effect of this would be when we had a player who had clearly lost his confidence like Gozie Ugwu, we could give him some games to get some goals and confidence instead of discarding him in a year-long loan deal.

Blue do you honestly believe anybody at CFC forward plans? That's been the problem for the last 4 years. Why even think of planning for something that might never happen? I could do a list of things that would never have happened had somebody applied a little thought into the future. The list would be endless and my beer would be going warm.
Wait for the shit to hit the fan then run like hell so none of the brown stuff touches you - that's the CFC mantra."What if" doesn't get a second thought

Wow even I'm not quite that cynical, but it is difficult to see much positive evidence of planning for the future. I can see negative evidence like investing the bare minimum to keep the patient breathing but barely conscious.
