Prediction League Results/Tables Week 4
#1

Not a particularly high scoring week in the PL this time around. Main reason for this was the Bonus Ball, which resulted in a -2 for everyone as most went for a Man City win and the ones that didn’t obliged and got their’s wrong as well!!!

Leading the way this week was SCO with 16 points, scoring points on 6 of the 10 games with 2 correct scores and a correct result on the Gamball. Close behind, and the only other player in double digits was BBB on 13 points, who unlike me got 6 predictions wrong but got 2 spot on and his Gamball was one of his correct results, so scored well when he scored!! The gap between these two and the rest should see both of them move up the table nicely after slow starts!!

Next in line was Beefy who continues his decent start to the season with 9 points, followed closely by Sanjay on 8 points along with current league leaders Matt on 8 points and Zinman & Worldclass on 7 points. Sanjay would have been higher but was the only one of this group to get the Gamball wrong!! Lord Snooty on 6 points and Derby on 5 points round out the players that troubled the scorers!! LS got the gamball and while Derby got 2 correct scores he missed out on all his balls to pick up the negative points that go with them!! Bringing up the rear, and being consistent with her start this season, was Amelia who ended up on a big fat zero along with DD who failed to get any predictions in, with no correct scores and no points from the BB or Gamball but thankfully for her did get the 1 point for the SB preventing a negative score!!!

Cheers

It’s very much as you were at the top of the Premiership as bar a couple it was very much single figure scores this week. Matt eeked out another point advantage to sit top by 7 points from Zinman in 2nd who made the right decision again to not play the  Doh  and also nailed his fourth consecutive Scoreball.

Beefy climbed a place into 3rd and seems to have taken to life with the big boys like a duck to water and as I’m sure he will tell us he’s a notorious slow starter and his best is yet to come  Whistle . His climb leads to a fall of a place into 4th for Worldclass though there is only a point between them.

Up three places this week and into 5th is BBB courtesy of his double point score which was only bettered by St Charles who leapt four places out of a relegation place last week into the lofty heights of 6th this week.

Sanjay stayed in 7th just a point further back, which he shares with Derby who slipped a couple of places from last week as those around him came in with a better points tally.

Snooty stays in 9th and is taking his time to adjust to his new surroundings following his promotion last season, while last years title winner, DD, suffers from his no show this week falling four places to occupy the first of the relegation places in 10th, as Amelia continues to struggle at the bottom sitting 17 points adrift with 4 weeks gone.

A good week for getting your balls right.

And another good week for our early leaders with Themaclad and Turkeydinner once again sitting at the top. It was the bonus ball that played the biggest part in this week's table - Mac and Turkey were the only players not to play their bonus on Man City and both got their bonuses correct. As a result of a maximum on the bonus, Themaclad heads the table with 19 points, 1 ahead of Turkeydinner.

The rest of the table - with one exception - were all close together with just 3 points separating 7 players. For once, the gamball didn't make a big difference with those getting it wrong making up their points lost with a higher number of correct predictions.

And so to this week's straggler, Bomber with 7 points despite getting the gamball result correct. Only 3 correct predictions left him all alone at the bottom of this weeks table.

Over in the Championship Themaclad continued to pummel his rivals at this early stage of the season, as he extended his lead from a mere 2 points last week to 14 this, with another big heap of points from his fourth consecutive correct Gamball, while Turkeydinner moved up a place, overturning an 11 point deficit from last week in the process, back into a share of 2nd with Bomber who had a less profitable weekend than his rivals Sad .

Spireite continued his steady start and sits in 4th and he’s another with a 100% success rate on the Gamball correct results, while BaggieOne and 4eva who does actually move up a place this week, lie locked together in 5th with their third consecutive double figure score after a low key start.

Stairs stays in 7th, despite making it 4 losses on the Gamball in a row, a trend not too dissimilar to last year at this stage if I’m not mistaken, which allowed both Quantum to close up in 8th and Twerton in 9th though they are both still averaging single figure scores after 4 weeks.

Joker rejoined the fold and is still within touching distance of those above him despite missing weeks 2 and 3.

Great write ups shame the same cannot be said about my predicting ....... dropping an average of seven points a week on the early leader ...... fixtures in the chumpionship, where we find ourselves are harder to predict. Only thing that brings me hope is the fact it's a marathon not a sprint, I say it's a marathon not a sprint. You heard it here first ... It's a marathon not a sprint!!!!!!
