Joe Skarz to Halifax
#1
Halifax continued to consolidate their challenge by signing Joe Skarz on loan from Bury for the season. Very decent full back at this level, started out both life and professional football at Huddersfield and has played a lot of league games for a 29 year-old.

You may remember him getting into some kind of row with John Sheridan when he was at Bury that prompted our acid-tongued former boss to shout at him that he'd finally found his level (which was League Two I suppose).

At this new level Skarz looks a top signing as does Bromley's acquisition of John Goddard from Swindon, who has proved he can score plenty of goals from midfield in non-league and should be the answer to their having lost Louis Dennis to League Football in the close season.

I liked Joe at Huddersfield. We were in League 1 when we let him go and I suppose we were right to, but he will always be remembered for his one and only goal for the club, a second half equaliser in front of the travelling Town fans at Bellend Road against the Champions of Europe, a match we went on to win 2-1.
