LAST MATCH

We finally got our first win in the league with a deserved win v the previously unbeaten Millwall. Dross made a bunch of changes with Preston & Penney given starting roles. Bannan gave us the perfect strike with a belter from the edge of the box, we then missed several other chances as we controlled the game for the majority of the 1st half. A great start to the 2nd half too as Lees prodded past the keeper from a free kick. We seemed to be heading for a comfortable win until Lees made a (now commonplace) mistake & Millwall scored which made for a tricky last 20 mins with several scares but we held on. That was our first win on a Wednesday in 4 years.

THE MATCH

Ipswich up next a Hillsborough. Thankfully no McCarthy in charge so we might actually have a chance of winning this one Thumb up  Ipswich are yet to win this season, so we usually know what that means but lets try to be positive and make sure Ipswich leave with 0 points. Ipswich must be in trouble as they lost to Rotherham a few weeks ago Laugh

Fletcher should start unless Joao is fit in which case stick him and Forestieri up top.

Cheers, Kev. Thumb up

I hope the pace is set, we played well the other night. Up until their goal we looked comfortable it's just a shame the panic set in.

Look at all those youthful full barnets though . No wonder we could score headers from set pieces with all that extra height and cushioning Laugh

Some of my favorite Wednesday players in that picture. The likes of Gary Shelton, Mel Sterland and Mark Smith, not exactly the superstars we ended up seeing in the 90s but these were the guys who got us promoted out of the Third division and eventually into Division 1!!!
