WBA vs QPR - Match Thread

With four points on the board and a berth in the next round of the League Cup, things aren't looking quite so bad on Planet Albion this week, and though concerns remain over the shortcomings of the team, there is at least a sense that we can compete in the Championship this season.

Greater fears linger over Saturday's visitors QPR, who are more or less a walking advert for the fate that befalls Premier League teams unable to bounce back. Fined £17m for breaking divisional spending limits and in a state of boardroom transition, the Hoops currently sit 23rd in the table without a point to their name. Obviously all that can change in ninety minutes though, and Albion need to be switched on this Saturday. There's a possibility Oli Burke might play a part after his winner on Tuesday, but otherwise there's not much need to tinker with the side victorious at Carrow Road last weekend.

Other than a RB of course Skad,
Unless we go three at the back Hegazi, Daws, Bartley
Doesn't seem to bad that's if Daws can be arsed of course Rolleyes

Obviously may be just BD saying the right thing and supporting his players but he said the other day that there was nothing wrong with Dawson's attitude and commitment regarding playing for Albion. Let's hope so - he's become a very important player for us

Being an old bugger, I remember the QPR v Baggies game at ‘Wemberley Wemberley’ in the 60’s I think. Paid 10/- (50p to you young un’s) to the man on the turnstile to get in - standing area. I were a young un in them days!

Two nil up at half time thanks to a brace from ‘Chippy’ Clark then that twat Rodney Marsh scored a hat trick i think in the second half and we lost to a third division outfit. Cockney twots- Hated them ever since!

My first game was WBA v QPR, 1968 I think it was, I remember we won, can't remember the score though and I have been suffering ever since.

Just looked it up must have been 5 October 1968 and we won 3-1. Come on boys give me a repeat for the 50th anniversary game.

Johnstone
Adarbioyo - Bartley - Hegazi
Phillips - Livermore - Brunt - Gibbs
Barnes
Gayle - Rodriguez

OR

Johnstone
Adarabioyo - Bartley - Hegazi - Gibbs
Phillips - Livermore - Brunt - Barnes
Gayle - Rodriguez

For me it would be the 4-4-2 with Rodriguez dropping into the 10 out of possession. QPR are seemingly going to play a 4411 so 3 centre backs against 1 striker is a waste of resources in my opinion.

1-0 Matt Phillips.

Sounds good so far on the radio.

Oops 1-1. Poor defending from set-piece.

Anyone know of any commentary you can listen to online outside of England (preferably free)?

1-1 at half time.

Sounds decent. The shape is more of a 3412 and seems to have been ok.

Wolves are 2-0 down to Leicester. Back down to earth they go.
