Only problem is, Dancing, being top can work both ways. Yes it can make teams nervous about you, but it can also mean they raise their game against you. Mind you, CFC being one of the perceived 'big' clubs at this level probably means they`ll do that anyway.
Nothing wrong with getting excited within reason, even at my age, and as has been said any CFC supporters deserve it after the last few years but league tables after 2 games are clearly meaningless. To my way of thinking they need half a dozen games at least to have any meaning at all.
Not sure about Saturday; personally I wouldn`t be surprised if about the same number turned up again; traditionally we have always got far bigger crowds on Saturdays than midweek. Might well make the drive up myself.

Just been for Salford tickets. This away day thing is becoming a habit already. Barrow on a Tuesday night is a tad too far though.

Nearly sold out. If I go to Salford I may have to go in the home end unless we get more tickets.

There is no way we will stay top for the next 44 games. That's why I said we need to stay around about the top 4-5 at least.

I phoned the ticket office this afternoon about Salford and was told there is no chance at all of us being given any more than the 1,300 we already have. They also said that the rate they are going, it is very unlikely there will be any left after the season ticket holders have had their dibs. However it seems that it`s only the away end that is all-ticket; if you are happy to go in the home section you can pay on the gate. I think I`m going to do that, as I`m going to be in the Manchester area that week-end seeing family anyway.

I agree that on paper we should thrash Braintree. Trouble is, as we all know football is played on grass, not paper. AND I`ve been watching CFC long enough to know that this is just the sort of game that we can screw up big-time - I`ve seen us do it many times. I`m still going to come up, though - got my ticket via the website. Will I never learn?

Looks like there will be quite a few doing that 'Salty' .You'd better sit on your hands if we score mate.
I was tongue in cheek with my comment ,I once said I'd run down my street naked if we lost a particular game and guess what ...

I`m on a course of positivity pills at the moment, so I`ll say WHEN we score, not if, Blue. And it`ll be my mouth I need to sit on rather then my hands; that`s the part that`s most likely to get me into bother. (Mind you, there are some who say that shouldn`t be necessary in my case as my back-side is where I do most of my talking from anyway.) Still, I`ll have my son with me to keep me well-behaved; he`s more grown-up than I am.

The truth is, I`m lmore confident about us getting a result against Salford than against Braintree. It`s just the way we roll.

How many times have you said that and been wrong Blue? It certainly isn't once!!!

I'm with you Saltergate. We have always stumbled with the easy ones and cruise the difficult ones. Mind you things do feel different.

CFC fans have suffered 3 years of dire football and incompetent leadership. We now have a reason to be cheerful, a **** in the cloud - call it what you may but excuse me if we do get a bit excited about it, its about time and we deserve it.

Jesus, this board is bewildering, even the word C H I N K gets blocked out. Add that to the list
For the avoidance of any doubt it means "a narrow opening, typically one that admits light"

You know very well it is Boris-Johnson for Chinese person, just as Burka means letterbox, OMG I wrote it. A fissure in the earth's crust has opened up. The burka is inherently funny, so is an Orange man in a bowler hat. And Boris Johnson could be accurately represented by a giant OXO cube topped off with a yellow mop.
Is Boris Johnson in shorts funnier than Jacob Rees-Mogg in a mini-skirt?

Carter SHOULD be in front of Rowley. He is six years older, that's an entire career for some players. I'm betting he wasn't as good at 18 ...........

I'm happy for us to loan out Rowley if we find somewhere that will benefit him, and that's not part-timers like Matlock or Sheffield FC IMO. A full-time team, with a change of scenery and coaching methods, where he'll get game time if he deserves it. If we make sure he can't play against us and score a couple, it might even be a rival team at this level ......

Yes after the three seasons we've endured I don't think we can really be begrudged a little over-excitement. How long is it since an opposing team actually thought we would be up there challenging for anything? I know Waddock is a mate of MA's, but even out best friends haven't be able to look us in the eye for quite a while.

I do think we need to be realistic though. It won't make it a false dawn if Braintree grab at least a point. Staying top would be great, but not that many early leaders stay the course right through. But Dancing's right, if you can be top, be top. Salford and Barnet would sure as hell swap their slow start for our six points, but I don't think they'll be hitting the panic-button yet. (Salford have had a very difficult start and just lost the one game they'd have expected to win. And Barnet, well none of this is new to them.)

I do, however, think how you behave when things are going well says a lot about you. If all you do is crow, or even bel like a Stag, just don't expect much sympathy when stuff goes wrong. Enjoy winning, but don't be saying like a few on Bob's that maybe Aldershot are as good as the opposition gets at this level. Aldershot were disappointed in themselves. Ebbsfleet will improve for putting Cheek in their team. But equally we have a lot of room for improvement too. (Me I'm still baffled by the decision to make Weir captain and thus get him in the team. He is a two-goal a season man at best. Given a choice I'd take Wedgbury's ball-winning any day and I really can't see that would mean a great loss in creativity. BUT do I know more than a manager with a 100% record? I can't see any evidence on my side.)
