I’d love to find out Big Dave’s reasonings for playing both Rodriguez and Robson-Kanu. During pre-season he has played 4231 with Morrison or Harper as the 10 and a 4141 with Livermore and Field as the central 2 with Brunt behind as the anchor. When Robson-Kanu and Rodriguez both played in the same team Rodriguez played off the left side of midfield.

To go through pre-season playing 4231 (with a pure 10) and 4141 and then make the decision to set up with 2 strikers (either as a duo or 1 behind the other) is baffling and in my opinion naïve. A big trap that British managers constantly fall into is changing from the system with 1 striker that works (4231, 4141 etc) to a system with two strikers such as 442 just because the opposition is not at the same level and you’re at home. Roy Hodgson used to do it a lot and he was vastly experienced at the time. Big Dave is a young Coach and is learning as he goes along so there’s no need to panic but having Graeme Jones as Assistant is supposed to help him make the right decisions.

I love Big Dave and I really want him to succeed at the club and to succeed, he needs to learn from these mistakes as we go forward. It’s only the first match of the season so it’s not that important in the grand scheme of things but today was a chance to make a fast start.

Morrison has to start as the 10 against Forest with Rodriguez or Robson-Kanu making way.

Either we forget selling Rondon - J Rod - Dawson - Chadli and replacing them with lesser quality players, or we can all see whats coming.
We were missing drive and goals last season - so what have we done to improve? Not a lot I say.
We had £50 million worth of talent missing today - why the hell was that.
I'm sorry, but it's big Dave's job to motivate these players not just sell them out the way.
If he want to sell players start with the likes of HRK if he can find anyone to take him. If he chooses to keep HRK and get rid of Rondon or J Rod, I would question his role as manager. If he can't get the management to invest and support him, whats the point of him being the manager. Lastly where were our youngsters today - nowhere to be seen, again this is Big D job to bring them in ?
Go and buy Gayle, if we think he will score a few, but not by selling Rondon & J Rod.
If we want an attacking No10 go and buy Bradley Dack?
The clock is ticking - its only the 1st game and Dave can turn it around, he has to get positive and wise up.
