Obviously we will take that result but not the performance we wanted to see although it was one way traffic in the 2nd half. Wasn't until Rashford and Loftus-Cheek came on that we started getting in behind them and in Kane we have the perfect poacher who doesn't miss many once he gets the chance.

Maguire and Trippier had good games, Stones and Walker looked dodgy at times, I think Cahill might get in next game. I would play Dier instead of Henderson but thats a toss up, maybe against Panama we should forget the defensive mid and play Loftus-Cheek instead. Rashford has to start, he is always positive and can score unlike Sterling. Dele was ok, always links up well with Kane, maybe having Rashford on will help Lingard. I would play Rose instead of Young down the left, not sure what Young brings to the team thst Rose can't do better.

sterling should be taken outside and shot infront of lingard and ashley young needs to be dismembered with tripier having the job of putting him a black plastic bag !! thats my coaching scheme i think it might work !!

After watching a bunch of other teams falter in the first game, it was good to see us go right to the end and get the winner!!

I'm just not sure Vardy and Kane would work together up front. I would start with Rashford, he has the same pace and can do better than Vardy in the build up, but one of them has to replace Sterling.

I still like the 352, Trippier had a decent game, Rose would do better with the crossing on the other side but I wonder if Cahill and the experience he has is needed in the middle in place of Stones. Stones will be a star, but he needs a bit longer under Pep to truly understand his role. The other option against Panama is to put Dier in the back three although Maguire did well when he came forward today.
