The Birmingham Mail journo who was about 99% correct regarding the Baggies ?
As a Baggies supporter he is still on twitter as he still supports the Albion he was asked about the managerial situation, If he still has fingers in Pies then this is almost a certainty, If he hasn't well we shall see ..........

I think it will be him. Something I heard over weekend suggested it was leaning towards him.

Near Enough Beefy.!!!!!!

On the other hand it seems that Everton and West Ham are about to part company with their respective managers of Fat Sam and Moyes.

Shall we go for one of them instead and see if we can get a little closer to having the full set of failed British Coaches on the Managerial merrygoround

Express and Dingle says Darren Moore is about to be given the job after impressing during his spell in charge.

Wow - I love the man, he is very qualified (done all his badges) and obviously can motivate a squad - everyone has to start somewhere and add to that in the tradition of the 3 degrees, Albion's appointment of him would be great news.

What do people think - it does worry me that he could be found wanting tactically over a season bit what the **** do I know.

On another note I can't help but sing the Monty Python's Robin Hood ditty 'Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore ridinhg through the geln - replacing it with Darren Moore - maybe there is a terraces chant there in the making..

Original goes like below - any variations from the more creative amongst us:

Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore, Galloping through the sward
Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore, And his horse Concorde
He steals from the rich, And gives to the poor
Mr. Moore, Mr. Moore, Mr. Moore

Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore, Riding through the night
Soon every lupin in the land, Will be in his mighty hand
He steals them from the rich, And gives them to the poor
Mr. Moore, Mr. Moore, Mr. Moore

and on it goes

If that is true I think it's a mistake to be honest,

The whole squad is going to need rebuilding , we were promised attacking football with goals the aim (Jenkins).

“From my discussions with the owners already, I know there is a genuine desire to build a team with greater goal power and attacking threat which can capture the fans’ imagination.”

Is DM able to build a squad ? I'm sure we won't get attacking football, if this goes tits up DM will then leave the club, whereas we could have had both with Dean Smith and Big D as no2,
No guarantees but if it went tits up with smith at least Big D would still be here and then make the step up,

As much as I love him ..............

I think they have gone for the cheap easy option again !!!!!

Yes, I'll wish him all the best but I'm not at all confident.
Perhaps the board got mixed up with your song, Stairs, and thought it was Dennis Smith at Brentford - wouldn't want him back!

Like I say - what do I know.

But to argue his case: He has West Brom in his blood. He has taken all of his coaching badges and the last few games suggests that he knows what he is doing. Plus he has been working behind the scenes with a number of manager for some considerable time (Obviously learning how not to do it).

e wants to manage I presume and we might lose him to another club if we don't give him the chance. If he is successful elsewhere we will not be able to afford to bring him back because that success will have 'bigger' clubs chasing his services.

It is a gamble, but there are many cases in the past of first management job heroes and so why can't he be one - Gerrard at Rangers is another to watch and compare.

All that said, it is the E&D that is peddling this story and so it's most likely total fantasy.

I’m mixed on it if Big Dave gets the job.

I love the man and his whole demeanour is a breathe of fresh air compared to the previous guys we have had. He is also Albion through and through and actually cares deeply about the club.

However, I can’t help but feel that the club is making a mistake giving him the job permanently. Whilst his 6 match spell was good, it was only the Swansea game that had some resemblance to an attractive team because we played it on the floor, keeping possession and controlling the tempo. After that it was more old school defend deep, soak up pressure and look to counter quickly. That way of playing won’t work next season in the Championship when teams will put 11 men behind the ball against us. If he gets the job then I hope he can bring in a more polished version of the Swansea style of play.

I’m still hoping that this early news is a false dawn and that someone else is actually coming in at the 11th hour. If not then congratulations and good luck Big Dave.
