Prediction League Tables Week 34
#1

Hiya guys sorry for the delay in the scoring had a bit of a heavy Bank Holiday weekend Rolleyes

So how did you Gamball go this week ? I Hope it went ok as despite Bombers whining about the Gamball he probably saved most of us some points as it was he who said that Fulham game was a ridiculous choice for the Gamball as " lets see" the team who are unbeaten in 20 games takes on a team in 20th place so its damn obvious Fulham are going to win, this despite Beefy telling him this game has a lot of pressure on it and Blues need to win just as much, Mmmmmm, and that Ladies & Gentleman is why with Bombers insight into predicting led him to having a fantastic score this week Laugh

The penultimate week and seen a huge shift at the top, the last week will now be a massive Nail Biter, movement at the bottom also as with one week remaining the Joker actually decides to turn up and play the Prediction League Rolleyes

Yes for this week only the Joker has come out on top with a hugely impressive 25 Points, the Albion Gamball being decisive but actually getting 6 of the 10 games correct also proved he had a solid allround week as well.

The gap to runners up was fairly large also, World Class takes 2nd with 13 points getting the Albion result correct this week was pivotal and proving this season the gamball has become too important but still a good week for the ever improving World Class.Third place and just 3 points behind is the biggest talking point of the week as DD closes rite up on Zinman at the top, a great final week awaits us, DD scored 10 Points. BBB came home with the same 10 points but was saved with a 8 point Bonus ball, in 5th place Amelia has done what she has done all season a sort of average week and scores 5 Points , in 6th place was St charles who second half of the season has fell away dramatically, St Charles just managed 3 Points, Then in 7th Place we have our Leader Zinman who finishes the week where he started with Zero Points, Zinman clearly wants us all to be on the edge of our seats on the final day just like his beloved Albion, the door HAS been left open !!!

In 8th place the start of the minusmen, Derbys struggles continue with -2 the same score as Sanjay who comes home in 9th Place, in 10th was Twerton with -3 and after Matts upturn in form it was followed by his usual crash back down to Earth sort of Week, Matt was 11th and in last place with -5.

Guys this has been really fun this Season and there will be changes to the Gamball next Year, but even with the Gamball proving a tad unfair on consistent predictors its still all geared up to be a cracking final week in both Leagues,

Good luck to Everyone involved .....

Beefy Thumb up

34 weeks gone and just 1 remains, yet the title race and the relegation scrap will go down to the wire. With 56 points maximum available for reward or -13 minimum for disaster it’s still possible for any of the top 5 to win it, but being realistic it’s a 3 horse race for the title.

DD has put himself there to be shot at, at the summit climbing a place from last week and leads the way by a very slim two point margin from Zinman in 2nd whose added only 27 points to his total in the last 5 weeks to lose last weeks top spot. BBB in 3rd is a further 17 points back and will need a 20 point swing next week to take the Premiership crown from 1 of the top 2, tactical predicting will be very much the order of the week  Rolleyes .

The same applies to Sanjay in 4th and St Charles in 5th both of whom need the Gamball spot on plus a few different successes from those above to mount a late and a highly unlikely challenge for silverware  Confused .

Worldclass is already on the beach in his flip flops sitting comfortably in 6th and any points now will be a bonus but probably not season changing  Thumb up .

Then it gets interesting, our bottom 5 are all still in danger of the dreaded drop into the Championship next season, only 19 points cover 7th down to 10th. Derby is the one in possession of 7th place on 141, while Matt sits 8th just 5 points behind but only 13 points in front of Amelia in 9th who hasn’t been able to repeat the heroics of her Terriers in recent weeks  Sad . The “Joker” in the pack is............... ermmmm Joker  Doh , with the help of a seasons best score and has given himself a real chance of avoiding the drop by lying 10th just a point behind.

I’ve resisted the temptation of putting the dreaded ® by Twerton, but it’s going to take a repeat or improvement on his seasons best set way back in week 9 and a hefty minus score from those above to give him any hope at all.

What a weekend - a bank holiday, the sun shining, bluebells in full bloom (until trampled on by my dogs), Wolves and Villa losing (albeit too late to matter) and a stunning 3 points for the Baggies to keep the slimmest of slim hopes still alive. On a weekend when late goals made such a difference, could someone make a late surge from the pack to challenge Beefy's seemingly inevitable, and much talked about (by him) promotion?

Probably not. Once again, the malign influence of the gamball has much to do with the week's table toppers. 4 players were brave enough to predict an Albion win, 3 of them with the correct scoreline, but nobody got their bonus correct, so overall a rather average week for scoring.

Top this week is Baggieone, resuming his late run for promotion following his stutter last week. Only 3 correct predictions but with 2 of them, including the gamball, being correct scores, it was enough to head the table and close the gap at the top. Also on 15 points is Vic, another with faith in Big Dave and Albion (and presumably another deity). Sadly his 0-10 Walsall prediction didn't quite come off - if anyone else had posted this I'd have assumed a typo - but it was still one of his better weeks.

A gap to Salop in 3rd place with 8 points (interesting that the top 3 scored a grand total of minus 2  without the gamball illustrating just how ridiculous that damn ball is).
Beefy probably did enough to cement promotion, getting the most correct result predictions this week but losing points on that bloody gamball. Quantum had to be taken to Beefy's red room to be "persuaded" to give a prediction for the gamball game....seems that Beefy's encouragement worked as he also went for a 1-0 Albion win.Had Quantum actually played the stupid ball he would have headed this week's table but instead has to settle for mid-table.

A bad week for everyone else with 4 minusmen. 4eva and Snooty are locked together on -2, Snooty now nervously looking over his shoulder and desperate for the season to end. Stairs has his 3rd consecutive negative score but is kept off the bottom of the table by Bomber, by my reckoning equalling his worst score of the season with minus 7 - I would expect Beefy might just have something to say about that.

Nearly there, and did I ever tell you how much I hate that Gamball?

Beefys 23 point lead at the top from last week, is now a seemingly insurmountable 31 to 2nd and 40 clear of missing out on promotion. Tempted to put the (P) next to his name but that will have to wait another 7 days  Tongue .

Snooty, in the top 2 for 24 weeks remains in possession of the second promotion place and will be looking over his shoulder next weekend to see how others are doing as he takes an 11 point lead into the last week over BaggieOne in 3rd, the dark horse for going up a few weeks ago but whose added a whopping 68 points to his total in the last 5 weeks to put himself in with a real shout  Thumb up .

4eva slips a place into 4th, still clinging to the faintest of hopes that he could gate-crash the promotion party with a stonking last week. The 16 point Gamball is a virtual “must” and others above have to fail to get any significant points. Likewise Bomber in 5th whose challenge has sunk quicker than the Titanic knows his Gamball prediction and probably most of the others has to be different to the others and also right, not just the results, but scores as well  Sad .

Salop sits in splendid isolation in 6th and can now finish off the packing and head for the beach a week earlier than some of the others, while Stairs in 7th and Quantum in 8th are probably still far enough out of reach of Vicar in 9th, though a repeat of his score this week, which was his highest for 7 weeks, could see a last minute change of hands for the wooden spoon  Wink .
