Close The Door Behind you James !!!

Exclamation
What a stupid comment to make at a time like this, I like James McClean's effort but his lack of Skill, a Red Card waiting to happen, and now a lack of a Brain cell (which he has always had)  now given this 'admission' Yesterday on Social Media and to the E&S he can do one and close the door behind him,
Some of his quotes are amazing , I'm not a snake because I want to leave  Doh , I have to put myself and family first, Translates into I want more money  Doh  He signed a contract worth 35K a week for four Years worth £1.5 Million, for those 4 Years he will earn more than me in all my life time  Doh  Add to this his timing as the club look to scrap to avoid relegation with it's last heart beat   Doh , Sorry James even your effort can't compensate for what you have just openly admitted to our Supporters,

Just like to add the love in on this time frame (Twitter) with Celtic fans is ridiculous begging him to go there and be one of 'them' well we all know what that is don't we James ..............
Close the door on the way out you wont be missed , be amazed If anyone actually wants to take you on  Angry

He has a contract which he signed in good faith and we should only sell him if someone comes in with an acceptable offer.
They say that ignorance is bliss - no wonder so many people are happy.

I agree with the sentiments above. I actually like James MacLean for his attitude, his passion on the pitch (occasionally this can be a disadvantage!!) and for his views off it, particularly his willingness to put something back into his community. However, I also think James, and nearly all his colleagues, live in a football bubble whereby they haven't quite grasped that £35,000 per annum is probably about 50% above the average salary in the UK, let alone £35,000 per week. I just think these guys live their lives in a world of comparison and status - I'm sure that Ronaldo has worked out that 9 million euros a year is a pretty good salary and that he can probably live off that but if Real Madrid decided to sign Jake Livermore on 10 million euros per annum - stay with me, its just an example Smile - then Christiano would spit feathers and demand an increase to re-establish himself as top dog. So, come on James, even on half of your salary as a result if relegation, you'll be earning close to £1 million per annum, I don't think your family will be visiting a food bank in the near future.
By the way, Livermore to Real Madrid is the new rumour - sounds crazy but they have previous, just remember the signings of Steve McManaman and Jonathan Woodgate.

I do understand where he is coming from and if, as said above, you look from the 'current' player perspective he is right. If he can get a bid from a Premier team he should be allowed to protect his career by playing at the best possible level he can.

The problem is that the fans are the only ones that still live in the past. I tell all of my friends that despite what modern football does to me, I can't stop loving it and West Brom - It's in the DNA. I played footie from about 5 years old, in the streets, at school, at cubs and scouts and eventually for local teams. As a kid I literally played in the summer from 8 am in the morning until my mum threatened me with spinach if I did not come in and go to bed.

Football Managers, Players, Club Owners and certainly the media have all moved with the times and rub each others backs and make shed loads of money. Which ever player or team is king on the day they worship. Professionals and ex professionals support each other regardless of diving, cheating (same as diving) etc and the media grovels and bows to their hero's.

But fans still presume playing for their club is an honour and something a player should fall on his sword for. We presume once an fan of the club always a fan of the club and we expect to see loyalty returned.

Sadly that has all been and gone.

I wish I could say next year I will support Liverpool because they look good - but I can't, I will go to my grave being an Albion fan even if I might stop being a football fan eventually.

I wont mention he got the team "relegated" and doesn't see it as a duty to put this right - just give me the money attitude.
Not even the most gifted, 10 out of 10 for effort just his application is suspect.

i will defend the guy up to a point
he has been on the naughty step since day one
if he wants to turn his back on the national anthem then fine
after all it`s not actually his national anthem is it
but to come out and more or less say he deserves more money.....please
what`s he on? £35k a week?
sorry james but this time ya gone too far

i see this as the start of the rest of the mecenaries wanting to jump ship
cos of a pay cut when we get relegated

do they actually play for the game

I'll never understand why a player in this situation would even make any comment at this stage of the season aside from we are all in this together, we will take it one game at a time and when the season is over we will see where we are at. Journalists must love players like him, ask him a question about his future and he answers it, when every fibre in his body must be telling him not to answer this question at all!!!
