Not one for blind optimism myself. We will not get another point. We will not score another goal. Will what we have already be enough? Doubt it to be honest. But the fixture list has served up an interesting finish. Next Saturday we will be right royally walloped. While Swansea are away at Bournemouth, and Saints away at Everton. Both tricky. Then midweek they play each other. Can't call that one. While we're away at chelsea. Nawt there! Until after these games I'm not completely writing off our stay in this league, as the final games are Arsenal for us, City for Southampton, and what could be their life saver, Stoke for Swansea. Gonna be tight which ever way. But what ever happens, we've done far better than anybody would have bet their house on at the beginning!
On another note. Did anyone see the assault on Cahill by Ayew near the end of that game yesterday. Similar to Fer's assault on Lossl. Out of all the candidates for the drop, I hope Swansea are the chosen ones!
I'M NO PESSIMIST.....JUST AN OPTIMIST WITH EXPERIENCE !!

I've been quiet seeing as I didn't go as I 'played' cricket (oh woe me)
Seems like van the man did his usual routine, rest of the season considering who we play I might be tempted to put lowe on the wing, his crossing is better than rajiv. Move Pritchard out on the right if ince isn't fit and bring either lolo or billing in, perhaps both and leave mooy out

Took my Notts County supporting brother in law yesterday ( he's taking me to their home play off leg) and he said in 45 mins what we;ve been saying all saying, poor wingers, no final ball no threat in the box wanting too many touches - so why does Waggers and staff not work on those areas. We have countered and scored in this fashion but Mooy ( apart from the bournemouth game) he;s not fired for weeks, Hoggy had to be dragged off to save a red card and Billing did nothing as Everton upped their game and 2nd half in truth we were a shambles.
Oggy asked DW specifically about how out of his depth ( at times) big Col looked and he obviously deflected the question to the team winning and losing bollox . Lossl again, from 80 yards away I was thinking how the hell was he beat across his goal, the highlights showing he failed to dive correctly, I like the chap he's made some good shot stops along the way but positioning wise he's making blunders regularly and they cost goals in his role and you can see why he didnt cut in the German league, sorry to say, Championship standard at best. Yes its possible but I cant see us scoring in any of the next 3 and our goal difference could be a dozen or so worse, we really have to hope the others muddle through their remainging games and let us off the big hook that hanging over the stadium this morning. I felt sorry for Pritchard he was busy and bustling but missed the best chances, VLP diving when he should have cracked it and his wayward pass for their opener - dont get me started - I'll drive him wherever he's going next, for free. A really deflated feeling around the ground and afterwards, Saints win has really put the pressure on and all we can do is watch the other games unfold and hope to else gets beat 18-0 to negate our goal diff. Blagged my way into a box at City next week so will have to be all respectful in their celebrations and curb the anger and frustration that Sunday afternoon might unfold. Chelsea away staying down hoping we can produce the impossible and go 10 at the back big night out if we do .........

Its all rather depressing right now.
3 games to go and we dont look like scoring a goal, never mind picking up a point. Dont get me wrong, i think the team played as well as they could at the weekend but unfortunately we just dont have that extra bit of quality that is required. I'm praying and hoping that 2 of Stoke,Southampton and Swansea fail to pick up the points needed to keep us above the dotted line but hand on heart i dont think it will happen

Said it before but the biggest mistake we made was letting Nahki go. There was no point bringing Depoitre on on Saturday, he and Mounie are too alike and too predictable. Nahki had the knack of popping up and scoring unexpectedly.
I could be wrong because at times he looked out of his depth in the Championship but he's gotta be a better option on the bench for what we have at the moment. The amount of injuries isn't helping either. Another thing, we need better crosses coming in if we're sticking with Mounie and Depoitre. We should get Dave Cowling in specifically as coach to the wingers and wing backs on how to deliver an inch perfect cross. ![]()

The front men aren't the problem IMO. Its the supply line thats the problem.
Right now we're down to the bare bones. VLP on one side and Quarner on the other. In reserve we have Ince(inj) and Scannell(making up the squad numbers.) We lack creativity in the middle of the park, we have plenty of steel ,grit and determination even if we are short on numbers just nothing in the mddle to spark us.

We could do with somebody like that bald Aussie lad we had last season. Whatever happened to him?

Actually passing to Pritchard would be a good starting point when it comes to creativity. The lad's the most creative spark we have and always shows for the ball just to be ignored for a sideways or backwards pass. Sometimes we have to gamble but we look too scared to do it. Unfortunately our bottle has been lacking massively since the turn of the year.
