Another repeat of the Arsenal game. Play for 15mins and then lose it in midfield and allow West Ham to control the game.
Still no creation in open play. Other than picking the ball out of his net, their keeper Adrian has had nothing to do.

I'd like another goal or a signal of ambition even if we lose.

Started well but have been under the cosh since we ran out of steam.

To be fair, the 1st goal was never a foul by Brunt. As for the overhead, if that isn't a high foot, it doesn't exist. How can Gardner head the ball away when Carroll is planting the boot isn't his face?

Second goal is pathetic though. The Dawson over McAuley selection comes back to haunt us yet again. How many goals is he going to cost us before Irvine realises he isn't Prem class? I said in a thread a few weeks ago that since McAuley was dropped, we can't defend a set play and again, the baby elephant Dawson isn't athletic enough to get up.

2 goals conceded at home again (already, at half time), despite creating very little. This West Ham team is hammered by injury and we're making them look good. Again, don't feel the first goal was justified, but can't help thinking that with a better team selection, we could've given them much more of a game than this...

Well first 20 minutes was very good but after we got the goal we shouldn't have dropped so deep. Not pushing too many players into the attack after getting the goal is perfectly fine with me and very understandable but dropping too deep gave West Ham more room to get into the game and they deserve their half time lead.

Brunt has been playing ok in a central role but him coming off is not the end of the world. Mulumbu on for him was the right change.

If there is no change in proceedings by the 65th minute then we need to see the introduction of Varela and Ideye for Dorrans and Anichebe.

Also, when you have zero width and the only wide player in Brunt gets injured, surely you look to the Champions League quality winger who is sitting on the bench? Oh, right, thats it, bring on the defensive mid to make the team even more narrow Doh

I'm hoping that tonight is the end of Jeremy's idiotic experiment, Irvine deserves everything coming to him with the constant awful decision-making and lack of any sort of game-management or tactical awareness.

You'd think we'd have a better defence with such a defensive manager.

He won't put Ideye or Varela on as they "missed pre-season"  Hardly a surprising team selection from 'The Muppet'

Question is, when will the chants of "You don't know what you're doing" start ?

My ST seat is empty tonight in the BRE Halfords Corner - after Saturday I couldn't be arsed to travel 90mins each way on a cold December night getting home close to midnight to watch the sort of crap we endured on Saturday.

The shouts of 'You don't know what you're doing' started on Saturday when Irvine brought off Sessegnon.

Everything going through the middle, looks like we need to bring some width on. If only we have 2 international-class left wingers on the bench Rolleyes

It's time for a change with Varela on for Dorrans.

Bring Ideye on for Anichebe in 10 minutes.
