It’s no surprise really. He’s been a dead man walking for the past 6 weeks and the change was always going to happen. Whilst he hasn’t been helped by the players, his tenure has been very bad and he has looked out of his depth as a Premier League manager for a couple of years now.

Big Dave will probably be in charge until the end of the season and then in the summer we can get a good Head Coach for the rebuild. Jens Keller is still my choice but I expect the club to go with a young British Coach who can be at the club for next 3 or 4 years to build something good. Dean Smith for example whose Brentford team play attractive football with a young squad.

Biggest smile of the morning, though I'm sure we'll manage to screw things up again.
All the best to Big Dave.

Absolutely chuffed he's gone as he's the worst manager I can remember - tactically clueless but also a complete failure at getting the players up for the game.

However, the timing from the club is another baffling decision. If money was available to sack him, surely he should've gone after the Southampton double loss at home. Failing that, the following week when Huddersfield humbled us at home.

Too little too late. I'm not really sure Big Dave will be the man but hope i'm wrong. Nobody can perform miracles but it would be nice just to see them playing with some pride and energy again.

We need at least five wins to have a chance of staying up ...... good luck with that ......but with big Dave to motivate them we might at least go down fighting and restore some pride ....

Maths might say we can stay up still but we all know that this is just NOT going to happen when we need to really win them all and expect our neighbours in the relegation fight to lose at least 3!:

Swansea (h)
Man Utd (a)
Liverpool (h)
Newcastle (a)
Spurs (h)
Palace (a)

Pardew went because he no longer could look the Board in the eye and say his bonus for keeping us up was realistic and so they mutual agreed he could bugger off.

Big Dave will motivate (scare) the squad and we might see a little effort. It would be galling to win all remaining matches and go down as it would show the club what should have been possible if managed better.

It's all about the next manager and a championship campaign:

5/1 Michael Appleton - Not convinced he is a good choice
8/1 Marco Silva - I'd take him
10/1 Mad Mick - Please god no!
12/1 Michael O'Niell - would not complain
12/1 Owen Coyle - Depressing
12/1 Paul Cook
14/1 Dean Smith
14/1 Derek McInnes - I don't really like the idea
Others:
Loads of other names based on past association or by mere fact they are available

Pardew has had both brilliant and terrible runs throughout his managerial career. That has even applied at the same club with very few changes in personnel.

Unlike Pulis he could have been a fit at West Brom', but he presented the wrong pole and the iron filings have been going all over the place. You had to ditch him even though it sadly can't change your fate now.

I hope you can find a man who will win you games in the way West Brom' want to win games. If Paul Cook had played in midfield for West Brom, instead of Wolves, I'd have been suggesting he could win you the Championship with football you'd enjoy (if you didn't mind seeing him in the pub on a regular basis).

Keep smiling, it's three more relegations to catch up with the team I support! You do have another boing in you!

Not a bad career progression for Big D from development team and club’s loan manager, 3 months ago being promoted to first team coach and now manager. Lets see the players not give their best now and I am sure some serious Big D 'whip a*s' will come down from above. Does he get the job if he keeps us up? for me a knighthood and probably being made a saint would be appropriate. Go on Big D show them some of that fighting spirit.
