There's been a lot of Chat on Twitter today, a lot about Nigel Pearson seems their could be some legs in it, Jenkins has worked with him before and CL former Bham mail correspondent said that it's a possibility,
Not everyone's cup of Tea is our Nige, however wouldnt take any shite of anyone, remember he built a team with Shaky at Leicester and got them promoted, and a lot of players he brought in after surviving the drop in the Prem went on to win it the season after,
I could think of worse choices out there ? .................

West Bromwich Albion will consider an offer to bring Nigel Pearson back to English football this summer, according to reports.

Pearson is currently managing in the second tier of Belgian football with OH Leuven - interestingly owned by King Power, the same company who own Pearson’s former club Leicester City.

The former Albion number two, who has also had spells at Hull and Derby in the past, has led Leuven to second in the league this season.

Pearson, who took charge of Albion for a short spell in between the tenures of Bryan Robson and Tony Mowbray in 2006, led the Foxes to the Championship title in 2014.

Albion are staring at a probable relegation this season; the Baggies are ten points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table with seven matches to play.

They’ve lost eight matches on the spin, and in that time it’s sparked plenty of speculation regarding the future of manager Alan Pardew.

Marmite person, definitely.
IMHO though Pearson would be a good choice for a 1 year rolling contract; I'd fancy our chances of coming straight up (or within 2 seasons) with him,  then we see where we are.

He is a good Championship manager but a very average Premier League manager in my opinion. He’d be good for promotion but not beyond that in the long term.

Overall it’s a no from me because of the long term issues.

For me I'd happily have him.  There's no guarantee we'll be in the prem sooner rather than later so Championship stability will be the priority. We can worry about the prem if/when we get there.

I'd be OK about Pearson managing the team in the Championship. I don't honestly know if he's a manager for the long term but, then again, what do we class as "the long term"? If we are saying he's not a strong premiership manager, I honestly don't see us getting out of the Championship in the immediate term so that may not be an issue. He will bring discipline to a club desperately in need of it and, as I recall, his style of football is ok

Josh I preferred your other choices - Keller looked the stand out candidate, different and not just a safe option. It's,about time the whole place was shaken up.IMO

We need someone different or eager to prove himself
Pearson McInnes Appleton would just be same again IMO let's be brave and different for a change.

Jens Keller is still my first choice but I think the club will look for a Championship experienced Head Coach with Championship experienced players. Someone like Nigel Pearson for example.

With regards to the long term, in my opinion the club needs to put in place a proper long term plan. Short-term season to season planning has played a big part in where we are now. A 3 or 4 season plan is required; Rebuild the playing staff through our scouting network, play attractive football, gain promotion in 2 seasons and then stay up in the Premier League. Nigel Pearson is a very good option for all but the final stage and with the club probably wanting to get back to the Premier League as quickly as possible, they will probably have him high on their list.

Back in the Premier League though is where he struggles.

How about you, Josh? What you doing for the next few years?

(9-10 hours round trip from West Cornwall every day? - you'd have to lodge in Oldbury!
Still in St.Ives? Our water's cut off this morning).
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

I think I’ll pass. I’m in Penzance now and have been since the end of 2016. I’m possibly going to be moving out of Cornwall in the future if my future application for the Probation Officer PQiP Programme is successful.

For anyone interested in how Nigel Pearson’s current team Leuven is doing, they finished the regular season in the Belgian 2nd Division in 2nd place and now go into the Promotion/Relegation Play-off with 2 other 2nd Division teams and 9 First Division teams. If West Brom want him they should hope his team don’t get promoted.

After Jenkins poverty speech today, attracting a good DOF and manager/head coach has been thrown out of the window.
He would have been better keeping quiet. Also the new Chinese owners don't appear to be investing a penny into the
operating costs. Not looking good for the future at all IMO. If we don't come straight back up its a very slippery slope we
are heading for.
