Bit late I know but our keeper that doesn't seem to get a sniff made 3 penalty saves earlier in the week and more importantly kept a clean sheet.
Would have thought his confidence might have taken a bit of a knock of late but well done to the lad.

I STRONGLY agree. Saving penalties doesn't make you a good goalkeeper, but it shows you are keeping your head and thinking. All too often goalkeepers get excited or panicky and sell themselves too easily. BUT this lad is talking about picking up the signs where the ball is going to go. If you are smart from the moment the taker is stepping up to place the ball he can hardly help giving clues. Some try to manipulate this by giving false clues really obviously ....... but if you are smart you're looking out for subtle stuff from the slyest hidden glance at the corner he's going for to the way he runs up, to the way he shapes to kick ....... and all the time you're trying not to tell him where you think he's going so he can change. What you don't want is to be like Jordan Pickford against Liverpool, he was in mid-air before the ball was kicked ..... and that same desperation led to him charging out for a cross he couldn't get near to present Van Dyke an easy debut goal. A lot of goalkeeping happens in your head. Dylan Parkin deserves a lot of praise. Wherever we are next season maybe he can step up to be the answer.

From his interview I thought he sounded like a bright lad with a sensible head on his shoulders .Hope he goes far .
