just a few general moans(as usual)
firstly.....i must congratulate the idiots that decide on the bbc`s F.A cup coverage
friday night was asleep by 9pm
saturday afternoon zzzzzzzzz by 2 o clock
sunday.......fell asleep into me sunday lunch
seriously BBC get a grip
secondly....pathetic premier league managers saying that they treat the cup with respect.....errr bullshit
if you treated it with respect you wouldn`t rest half your side and replace them with reserves would ya?
and my final point
if a side decides to field a reserve side in earlier rounds then surely that side(s) should be made to field that side throughout the remaining rounds.
how many times have we seen the so called top 6 field weakened sides against inferior opposition only to suddenly select a full strength side when they are in a semi final and up against another top 6 side?
whats the betting Liverpool/West Brom gets chosen for tv?
not because its 2 premier league sides
its so the BBC pundits can once again praise and drool over the Liverpool Side

I think as fans we now need to realise that football as of 3/4 years ago is dead. The money pumped in has change the dynamic so drastically that the prestige and the reward for winning a cup (league or FA) is now as appealing as the charity shield. It’s all about league survival and that it. Success has been overtaken by fear as the driving force and so clubs no longer care for bonus competitions. Man City can take it seriously because they have basically already won the league but even they field weakened sides. It’s got to a point that fans no longer matter, I don’t agree that the TV would be gutted to see an empty stadium with no atmosphere, the TV will see it that if there are 10k fans in the crowd that’s 10k subscriptions they are missing out on. If it was that much of an issue, man city would never be shown on TV. Which just isn’t the case. I think we all need to realise that football as we all knew it is dead and the premier league is now all that matters and so negativity and not losing is more of a reward than winning. To not get relegated is the be all and end all for 14 of the 20 teams and that is it, cups are just a hindrance that gets in the way of that end goal. Football is dead :/

With all the money, Worldwide coverage, TV coverage of most leagues in the world, The money, the Razzamatazz, Football on a whole is so boring to when I used to go Up the Albion in the 70's.
Nowadays its all ticky tacker, side, side, back forward, back...................................I prefer wingers like Willie Johnston, Laurie Cunningham, Forwards like Big Cyrille, Astle, etc and hard tackling classy footballers like Robson, Cantello and the like.
The game was hard, fast and exciting, now its dull as dish water and played mostly by pathetic, whinging, overpaid Babies. Silky skills are one thing but when its done by a player who will dive at the first opportunity to gain advantage or to get a player sent off then its crap.
I only stopped playing a decade ago and played at a very good standard, actually getting paid. If I played now I Would get sent off every game.
The actual game itself is going backwards for entertainment and quality.

I agree with all the above sentiments; that's why I now follow a team in Division2.
Even at that level there are still a lot of annoying things going on both on and off the ball.
The only way, that I can see, that football has improved over the decades is, the state of the pitches they play on.
The mud patches and mud baths have gone.
Replaced by a surface us former amateur players could only dream about.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

I echo Foxman & WCA, and I think most fans up and down the country do, as well.
What we have to do is:-
1. Cancel our Sky subscription forthwith, if not fifthwith. (Not that I've ever subscribed, because the fanzines of 20 years ago foresaw all this, and a lot of fans who cared, boycotted Sky.)
2. Because I'm sure most regular punters feel exactly the same (perhaps not League 1&2, who it doesn't affect), and they don't like 100 mile Awaydays on a Monday night, we should all pump this issue, and hope that a proper Fans' Representative can stoke up some solidarity by organising "strikes".
The only way to stop the rot is to hit Sky in the pocket, and show the Premiership that we mean business by organised Stay Away Days.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

But if I was to cancel my Sky subscription I might have to talk to the wife (or at least hear her talking!!)
