Mail linking us with Mathieu Debuchy from Arsenal, would make sense bring in a RB with another year in him class at a reasonable price. Move on Evans, Hegazi Dawson in the centre = money for a striker.

Leigh Griffiths of Celtic also linked again but I am not sure about a player that HAS to make a statement like this "“I’ll keep battering the doors down to show I am good enough to stay in the Celtic squad.”

If we're after him, I think Debuchy will be a good signing. Experienced right back who Alan Pardew knows very well having brought him to England from Lille. He would give us a proper, quality right back that we have lacked since the days of Steven Reid and Billy Jones. It would also mean Dawson moving to centre back to partner Hegazi if Evans leaves. Dawson and Hegazi started the season together and had a good partnership.

Drewks, we could always look at a loan deal for Clément Grenier from Lyon in France. He's still only 26 but has been around for a long time having come through the famed Lyon Academy. He's a proper playmaker and set piece specialist who can be used as a central midfielder or as a number 10 to link up the centre of midfield to the wingers and striker(s).

Yeh Josh,  that sort of high pedigree player to slot in straight away, just for the rest of the season; to me that would seem the most likely way to operate in this window.
No big player to make a massive commitment to us, and vica verca,  just in case we DO end up going down

Transfer Window Definition:
There are two transfer windows in each Barclays Premier League season.
·     The first starts at midnight on last day of the closing season and ends 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
·     The second starts at midnight on the 31 December and ends 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.

Loans (Temporary Transfers):
·     Only 2 season long loans are possible from other domestic leagues (and only 1 from any given club).
·     But they can have limitless International loans
·     In the
Premier League, players on loan are not permitted to play against the team which holds their registration (section 7.2 of rule M.6).
·     Loanees are, however, allowed to play against their 'owning' clubs in cup competitions, unless they have played for their owning club in that cup during that season.
·     Temporary transfers can be made permanent outside of the transfer windows

Home Grown Player: A player who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or The Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of 3 seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21) and for the purposes of this definition of “Home Grown Player” a season will be deemed to commence on the date on which the first transfer window closes and expire on the date of the final league match of the season
