I'd curb any excitement until you see them play Blue. Interesting though. Outgoings to be announced tomorrow?

We have a whole month for ins and outs Dancing although Ins are urgent .
Don't know what to make of the signings so far.
Zavon began brilliantly at Maidstone so can clearly shine, but stopped hogging the headlines the last few weeks. Contract cancelled by mutual consent for this deal ........? He's 29, once cost £250,000. I dunno! I've made a list of non-league names and he wasn't on it - had he been 25 then an 18 month contract would've made sense to me. Sid is a hothead and Yeovil have been playing a guy who looks like a choirboy instead. Sid is a local lad to Millwall, only wants to play for them. Another dunno! And Josh Kay. The Fylde route is usually a good one, but he hasn't broken into a Barnsley team on a losing run till their last match. A fee! Am I seeing right? And he's only ever played one league game? I'm reading he's a loan, but Barnsley's website says FEE. I read he was going on loan to Tranmere when Ollie Banks went. Did he? Anyway do you still think I'm barking up the wrong tree suggesting non-league talent ....? Fylde is where he developed. Kay is a central midfielder it seems, so is most of our current team, how is that going to pan out? But I like the fact that like Forest Green Jack has clearly been planning moves in advance of the window opening. If Saturday's game happens to be waterlogged he's got over a week to get these boys into his structure ...... unlike GC who trained his old team together for two weeks and brought in six players on the last day of the window to destroy all the benefits of the work they'd done. So at least this looks like a plan, which is unusual for us! But at the moment I'd bet on Dayle Grubb making the leap from Weston-Super-Mare to scoring goals from midfield for Forest Green in front of our new lads, but you know me and pessimism.
It looks like we will be signing Aaron Ramsdale in time for Saturday which is another strange one as Eastwood has been doing well so not sure what will happen there .Bournemouth signed Ramsdale for 800k last season from Sheffyoo and he played for the Eurpean champions U19 team .

If our defence were staying the same I'd leave Eastwood in position, but injuries and Talbot will completely change our back line so goalie is up for grabs. (Dylan Parkin must be feeling great about himself, Jay Smith released yesterday, and it seems the message from Jack is any goalie but you son. Don't think he need clear a space for his new contract.)
Our midfield urgently needs to carry a bit more threat so I would be getting Josh Kay in there. The best news is Joe Rowley signed a contract to 2021. Now that's what I want to see, young lads coming through and going out onto the pitch for us for a bit before they move on. Applause!!!!!!!!!

Back four is going to completely change especially with the injuries and Wiseman being suspended. I'm confident about these new signings. Got a weird feeling we are going to beat Accrington tomorrow.

MATT - see a Doctor before they close tonight ......
There's weird feelings and there are issues. Before we get too cock-a-hoop with our signings have you noticed what is going on around us? Forest Green bought Reuben Reid today. That means they'll have him and Doidge up front. If Reuben's on the vegan kick he'll lose weight and if he can get a partnership going with Doidge, it's on no-one will want to face. Add in Farrend Rawson at the back and Dayle Grubb coming from midfield - if this were the start of the season I'd be backing them to win it. Yeovil too seem happy to have ditched Sid Nelson and have brought in several players. Teams who haven't made much of a move yet are Crewe, Barnet and Morecambe. But I do know Crewe have been tracking non-league faces. I wonder if Jack has his eye on a goalscoring forward other than Hines and whether he's been told that say a £250,000 offer would be too good to refuse for Dennis.

(05-01-2018, 18:40)Devongone Wrote: MATT - see a Doctor before they close tonight ...... DEV WHERE'S THE OPTIMISM? YOU'RE SO PESSIMISTIC IF WE WERE WINNING 5-0 YOU WOULD STILL SAY WE'RE GOING TO LOSE 6-5. Dev your new year's resolution should be to be more optimistic this year about Chesterfield. In sport or in anything you have to go in with the mentality that you are going to win or what would be the point of entering or contesting in anything? There wouldn't be a point would there. The players need to go into every game thinking we have a chance of winning it because if you go into every game with a downward look and attitude then the confidence will be low and it will affect the team and how they play. So yes I believe Chesterfield will win tomorrow against Accrington and that we will stay up in L2 and I also believe Jeremy can win the next election!
