Celtic end a record breaking year 2017 with a 0-0 draw v Rangers!

In a very poor match at Celtic Park, lots of energy expended by players but lacking real quality. The biggest 'sinner' definitely Sinclair who missed an 'open goal' at Gers back post - a Hoops' player who has not been in good scoring form confirms it again and easier to score in this case when he missed the best of a number of decent scoring opps! No matter as Aberdeen drew their game with Hearts as did Hibs v Killie.

Aye.

A draw was probably fair on balance. celtic should really have had the game 'in the bag' first half but sinclair and dembele were both really wasteful.

Rangers were much better 2nd half and if morelos had a bit more quality or craig gordon had an off day they could have took the 3 points. celtic were nearly as bad as they were at tynecastle after the interval.

celtic looked a side in need of the winter break.

My perception of Celtic's dip in form stems back to the end match in their Champions League group campaign v Anderlecht and it appears that a lotta Hoops' players relaxed after playing so many demanding matches and then entering that very demanding December period. They do indeed look like they could do with a rest. However, in reality they have only lost one domestic game for long enough!

0762,
Although Celtic have only lost 1 domestic match this season the statisticians amongst us will point out that they have failed to win 7 of their 21 matches. What many fail to accept is most of the SPFL teams play 4 cup finals a year against Celtic and gaining a point is seen as a major success.

Just look at Rangers post match celebrations alone 1Wattie as a prime example and the fact of the matter is they are not as good as they think they are and a draw was a celebration - more to do with the Hoops' 'dip in form'.

I think the post match celebration was brought on by relief because many fans feared a backlash from the Hearts defeat. One Rangers supporting friend of mine thought Celtic would be 3 up by half time and 4-1 winners, he lost £10 to the bookie on that one.
I agree though Rangers are not as good as they say they are but on a good day they are maybe better than we all think they are.
Whatever the case we all know they are nowhere near challenging Celtic for titles.
