First of all Merry Xmas and a happy new Year to you all
See you the 6th of January for week 18

This is a great story to finish the 2017 year off as we have a perennial struggler who has actually finished top of the pile, Pity Albion wont finish off the year the same

I'm only going to be brief this week as I'm off out in a moment and then tomorrow of to see Santa , yes for the kids and yes there really is a Santa ...........
I think

I will leave the rhymes the poetry and the sarcasm to those that seem to know best,
In 2018 I will make them all eat humble pie as my climb up the tables gathers momentum,
So Matt, congrats a stunning 3 correct Scores, coupled with 3 correct results it added up to a great week for you in what was a really low scoring one, If only that Gamball had come in eh ? Mind you everyone apart from our OWL friend let their hearts rule their heads and all suffered as a consequence,
Matt, your Bonus ball was the biggest factor getting the Spurs victory at Burnley bang on thus keeping Zinman off top spot who still seems to be fluking all his balls in the right place as his Bonus helped him on the way to 11 points and runners up spot.
Then the Points fall away as BBB comes in third with just 7 points,
Amelia, Joker, Sanjay our leader DD, and St Charles Owl with the only correct Gamball all come in mid table 4th down to 8th place with 6 & 5 points respectively,
Derbys struggles continue and musters just 3 points and 9th place,
Worldclass will be grateful for his bonus and Insurance saving him in 10th place with just a single point........

And unfortunately we had to have a minus man bring up the rear and it was a huge minus at that ......
Twerton had a real stinker just a couple of correct results failed Balls and it all adds up to a whooping -8

But as Matt proved there is still hope for all of us in 2018

AV A GUD UN !!!
Beefy

Premiership
Just a few words this week as the festive spirit is bursting to get out and has to be allowed to kick in.
DD finishes the year as top dog but 1 of the 2 notable movers this week was Zinman who takes 2nd spot all for himself with the help of yet another Bonus Ball success, with Sanjay dropping to 3rd.
Little change around mid table as BBB, St Charles, Derby, Amelia, Worldclass and Joker all shared average weeks, while at the back end of the table the other special mention goes to Matt, who moved off the bottom with a seasons best score to finish the year with hope that he can climb at least another place out of the relegation zone. Twerton finishes the year bottom of the pile and will be keen to avoid the bottom at Christmas curse in the New Year

Merry Christmas everybody.
Wow. If anyone thought the Premier League scores were low, take a look at this lot.
Answer me this - could 10 monkey's hitting random numbers possibly score less than the mad world of the Championship managed this week? Comfortably the worst week of the season so far with Bournemouth not predicting and, thanks to a monumental effort from our vicar, achieving a record that will never be beaten. The gamball didn't help - just when you believe that Albion may actually be playing someone worse than them.......negative points across the board.
Earlier this week Beefy had moved on from his fantasy of 20+ points. Instead he claimed to be able to see 30 points on the horizon....well at least he got it half right, he got one digit correct. Amazingly. congratulations are still due to Beefy, top of this week's pile (I'll leave it to everyone to decide what it's a pile of). Only you and one other managed to actually end up with a positive score, an incredible 3 points. Beefy looked to be heading for Minusland but was saved by his lower division knowledge (or by some random guesses). Second place goes to Baggieone, theonly other participant with a positive score thanks to a correct bonus ball. Third is Snooty - zero points would normally be a bad week but this week actually makes the podium and he should stay another day at the top of the league.
And then we have this week's Minusmen - lots of them. 4eva is the best of them thanks to his bonus with Salop in 5th - it could have been better but Salop suffered from some poor ball play, losing points on the bonus and using his insurance on the score he actually got right. Thecarnage continues with Quantum and Bomber, both with -7 points normally enough to leave you stranded at the botom but not this week. Stairs managed a double figure negative -just the one correct results (Spurs, the game that actually produced one third of the correct predictions) but still wasn't bottom.
And on to Vic. What can I say, an incredible performance. Everyone thought he'd done somethin' stupid with his predicted scores (too much sherry and mince pies?) but who could have guessed that he'd manage to get every single one of his results wrong - a truly amazing feat, but still not bottom. Lonely this Christmas at the bottom of the pile is Bournemouth. A failure to predict on top of Vic's performance means his minus score can never be beaten.
Merry Christmas everyone (and happy birthday to me)....let's see if we can't do a little better in the New Year (and hopefully the Albion players can do likewise).
If anyone's still reading and thinks some of the above looks a little strange, I've added in some Christmas fun this week - my commentary includes 10 song titles all with something in common. When you've had enough of your turkey/pudding/sherry/in-laws - see what you can find (and no cheating by using that interweb thingy)

Championship
Again just a quick few words as the festive season has now officially begun.
Snooty increased his lead even without adding any points to his tally as 4eva couldn't take any advantage, although he did cement his promotion place as Bomber lost all impetus of recent weeks and also allowed Baggieone to close up on him.
Little change mid table as Beefy and Quantum retained their placings although Beefy edged a little nearer to the ton, 5 points away to be exact, so another 3 or 4 weeks and he should be there

After a nightmare week in the Championship, epitomised by Vic, gaps were closed with big points swings letting Salop close up, but the only mover was Stairs, despite another sizeable minus finally moving off the bottom at the expense of an absent Bournemouth who couldn’t have picked a worse week to miss

I blame the Vicar

Bomber
Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for suffering all of our ramblings with the Prediction League and by taking part and for making it the success it’s been so far this season.
It’ll all be back for more of the same in the New Year.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS
