Why isn't Greg getting a look in?
Good first 20 minutes and then a rather poor showing in the next 25 minutes.
Our right side is struggling against the threat of Zaha, Loftus-Cheek and Schlupp. Nyom is pushing too far forward and the space he leaves is taken up by Zaha. I think Evans and Hegazi need to be changed it around, let Hegazi have Benteke and then Evans can cover behind Nyom. I think at the 65th minute mark we should be bringing on Burke for HRK to stay wide on the right and attack the space behind Schlupp. Gone 4-4-2 now with Field on the left and Rodriguez alongside Rondon.
I worry that, if Palace take the lead, we’re done for. Albion to score two goals in what remains of the second half? Very unlikely.
This is fast becoming a must-not-concede-first game. Both sides have had plenty of chances, we’ve managed to clear or deflect a lot of theirs, while we just can’t seem to hit the target. AND breathe. Just glad to come through a very loseable game with a point.

I am happy with this. Need to settle with new man in charge.

Last 20 mins were good, with Sam Field excelling. Hegazi and Evans were outstanding, but Liversalts is NOT a Premier player - let alone International.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with
A good building block has been set with this result.
There were some good positive signs and it was a big improvement on shit Pulisball. Alan Pardew just needs to find the right blend for the next couple of matches. I think the 4-4-2 that we used in the second half is the way forward at the moment until we get Chadli and Morrison back. Rondon and Rodriguez have a good partnership brewing and Field on the left looks good. We need to sort out the right wing and in the centre of midfield because we were lacking in their today. Phillips or a fully fit Burke need to be on the right and then in the middle, Barry or Yacob have to be the holder and then either Livermore or Krychowiak as the central midfielder. I would prefer Krychowiak over Livermore because Livermore has been very poor this season and truly Pulised. Defensively, Hegazi, Evans and Gibbs are solid but Nyom is the weak link. Ponderous and poor in possession and regularly caught out at the back. In January, we really need to sign a new right back, a player who is good going forward and solid defensively. Swansea away next week and they could have a new Head Coach then if they remove Clement. It would be a funny coincidence if they replaced him with Tony Pulis and his first match is against us. Anyway, onwards and upwards under Alan Pardew. ![]()

Statistically only a point..
However other stats show a vast improvement ![]() 18 shots of which 6 on target and over 50% possession. It's moving the right way!

A substantial difference in atmosphere and expectation. To see us experiencing over 50% possession was so encouraging and do you know what, we seemed to have far more run of the ball unlike in Pulisdays.
Some sublime long balls from Evans, another excellent display by young Sam Field and Rondon. Had expected more from Gibbs and IMO, Rodriguez tired and wasn't at the races . Not impressed with Livermore either. All that said, an encouraging performance.

Reasonably encouraging today, defensively solid, midfield ok (unlike others I thought Livermore did his job well) and Rondon looked lively. Weak links were definitely HRK, Nyom going forward and,to a lesser degree Rodriguez. Hopefully, a fit Phillips and Chadli would improve us.
