Billy Jones equalises against Newcastle at the Hawthorns, 20th April 2013

After a welcome point at Wembley on Saturday, the Second Coming of Megson continues on Tuesday night with Albion welcoming Newcastle to the Hawthorns for the first time in a couple of years. While we can be cautiously optimistic about the signs of improvement against Spurs, a draw in the Premier League is only ever as good as the results on either side of it, and Albion need that long-overdue win to really make this a good week.

The Magpies are having troubles of their own, with four defeats on the bounce heaping pressure on Rafa Benitez. They've scored just once in this losing streak, and this has every chance of being a desperate six-pointer, but let's hope that the Megson honeymoon will be enough to get us over the line.

My first game since March and I'm looking forward to a positive, optimistic atmosphere last experienced a long long time ago. How long that optimism lasts is open to question but now is the time for the players to show us how good they can be.

I'm also hopeful that the players will look on this game as a great opportunity to show the new boss - strongly rumoured to be Alan Pardew from Wednesday - just how good they are.
With this in mind they haven't really got to toe the Megson line (pretty similar to TP) but appeal to a HC who has a more attack minded approach.
Because of this, and Newcastle's recent poor form I can see us actually WINNING this one!

For the first time in 10 months I am actually properly looking forward to a match. Tony Pulis killed my enthusiasm and it became a chore to watch. Now I have new hope for the future of the club.

I hope we see the same starting 11 but in a 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 formation with Phillips and Rodriguez as proper wingers rather than the 5-3-2 that we played on Saturday.

As Ska’d points out, Newcastle have lost their last four, what odds they break that duck against us?
The last Albion game I attended was Swansea at home, 3-0 courtesy of Rondon’s hat-trick of headers, and we could do with a repeat performance.
Thank God I haven’t paid good money to see any of Pulis’s dross since.

I'm up for the first time this evening, as soon as TP was given the push, I went online as a guest of my old man for £15, really looking forward to it, really optimistic for a positive outcome. Won't be at the match - however I'd really love to see us playing attractive football again as Zinman suggests.

I still don't think Pardew is the man we want - his past record says he's ok for a season then falls away to medioctrity. (A word i have a problem with   )
