Don't know whether its me looking through rose coloured specs but, we seem to me to be retaining the ball better, passing better and playing better in general.

We are doing a lot of defending, but we also seem happy to pass the ball around at the back to relieve a bit of pressure. I don't know if it's my imagination but our passing does seem to have improved.

Well I wasn't happy with the team selection, but there is a marked improvement, even if we go on to lose.
The difference is that the players are allowed to play the ball around, rather than just thumping it every time. We're under the cosh, but because we're having a few spells of passing, nowhere near as under the cosh as we've been used to.
It does back up what most of us were thinking, that this squad of players aren't a complete bunch of donkeys and they were being coached just to hoof it forward every time they got the ball.
Hopefully we can keep it going in the second half.

Good first half and some good positives. We're still defending too deep with no real out ball at times but at least we're trying to pass the ball around and get somewhere with it. Under Pulis we would pass it around for 15 seconds, Pulis would shout at them and they would either hoof it forward or pass back to Foster for him to hoof.
Talking of Foster, I hope our new manager spends some time de-pulising him because his antics and time wasting is still embarrassing even without Pulis.
