John Trewick glides past Steve Perryman and Glenn Hoddle at White Hart Lane, September 1979

Some fifteen years or so ago, I had a dream that one day Gary Megson would take Albion to Wembley. I'll admit that by 2017 I'd largely given up on the possibility, but what do you know? This Saturday Sir Gary will indeed be leading the Baggies out on the hallowed turf (presumably to the sound of someone high above laughing long and hard at me).

Spurs will be looking to bounce back from their derby defeat at Arsenal, and they couldn't have asked for a better opponent. Albion have been left a shambles by the last few months of the Pulis tenure, and it's hard to see where our next point comes from right now. It would be a small fairytale if Megson, in his first game in the Albion hotseat for over thirteen years, could somehow stop the rot in time for a new manager's arrival, but in the grand scale of things it's sadly unlikely.

Still, for those who are going, enjoy your trip to Wembley - it's been a long time since we saw it, and may be a long time before we see it again - and let's hope for better things ahead.

4 - 0 to us with Boaz - a surprise choice accompanying Rondon, HRK, Phillips and Fozzie up front - getting all 4.
83% possession for the Baggies in a real footballing extravaganza

Can't see the Club getting Fozzie's no.1 swopped onto a new shirt in time, Drewks. So he'll keep his green goalie jumper on to partner a limping Morrison up front. Boaz will borrow Dawson's green shirt to play wide-left/running-goalie.
Jumpers for goalposts - it's not like the old Wembley, eh!?
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

In all the speculation of the past few weeks somethings have gone under the radar a little. So a big shout out to Gareth McAuley who will make his 200th Premier League appearance if he plays today.

Well done GMac on to the next 200

Not for me Clive. Assuming that is indeed the formation, that is basically the same team Pulis was playing before his 532 experiment, except with Field in for Greg. With Brunt, Mozza and Chadli not even making the squad, there is absolutely no guile in midfield.

Expected Megson to come in and change things around a little. Maybe reintroduce Brunt for Barry or bring in a winger for one of the midfield plodders. Instead we have Field as a straight swap for Krychowiak Doh Real injection of guile there Doh

Hopefully by some miracle we can get something, because we need the points. But this team selection is just about as uninspiring as it could get for me.
