Prediction League Tables Week 10
#1

Well any foundations that were laid on Saturday for a good week were ripped apart with Sundays games with the exception of Sanjay & Matt who take the top 2 places on this weeks leaderboard  Smartass .
Sanjay tops that board partly because he saved himself from losing another 3 points by not playing the Gamball and also added to a good Bonus Ball with 5 other correct results giving him 15 points. If not for Michael Antonio that would have been 19 points as Palaces late late equaliser robbed him and a fair few others. Matts 9 points were largely made up by the only correct Gamball result of the week in the Premiership  Thumb up .
BBB can thank his correct score Bonus Ball for his 8 points and certainly saved his week for him, while Worldclass was the only other predictor to get a positive score and that was thanks to Harry Kanes hamstring  Big Grin . Originally going for a draw Worldclass changed to a home win with his bonus once the injury was confirmed.
As for everyone else it was a week to forget with Derby, Zinman, DD and Twerton all ending the week on -2. But they were still to be outdone by 3 others in the shape of St Charles on -3 and and both Amelia and Joker who shared the bottom of the table on -4

Premiership
DD’s consistent run of form came to an abrupt end and although he retains his top spot his 30 point lead from last week has been more than halved as Sanjay fresh from his seasons top score last week again made significant inroads into the points deficit and now sits just 13 points away in 2nd. Add to that only 4 Gamballs played this season and we seem to have a very canny predictor on a roll. The top 2 now have a very healthy looking advantage over those below.
Derby’s minus week was still enough for him to reclaim a share of 3rd spot after slipping a couple of places out of the top 2 last week, he draws level with St Charles who just about held on to his place in the top 3, which he has had all season, following two low scoring weeks on the trot.
BBB showed a return to form in points and bagged his 9th successive Insurance Ball save and was rewarded with a climb of two places back into 5th where he had been for much of the season.
Making way for him were Twerton in 6th and Amelia in 7th who both suffered from a bout of the minuses for the first time since they both did the same in week 7.
Zinman sits in 8th neither threatening to go any higher or any lower, sitting 12 points behind and 9 points in front of the places either side of him, though Worldclass was helped by Harry Kanes injury which led him to change his bonus Ball prediction for the better.
Filling the 2 relegation spots are MattWBA in 10th, though his tally was helped by equalling his best weekly score of the season so far and is starting to find his feet, and Joker in 11th who gave back the 2 points he worked so hard for in his first week and 2 more for good measure.

A weekend of 2 halves, or should I say 2 days. By Saturday night the Championship had between them managed to score a quite magnificent minus 9 points. A complete wipeout on both the Man Utd and Stoke matches, with these games also ruining 9 bonus balls. The only player not to blow his bonus ball on one of these games was Baggieone...who instead played it on Wigan - Blackburn and got it wrong. So a full house of blown bonuses - very impressive.Stairs had a particularly bad Saturday with a 100% record of incorrect results.
So on to Sunday which saw a dramatic improvement. A clear winner this week was Snooty - 23 points helped by correctly predicting that neither Villa nor Blues could hit a cow's ar*e with a banjo, also getting the Leicester and Sunderland scores right. Quantum got 16 of his 17 points on Sunday - correct scores for Leicester and Brighton and the correct result on the gamball giving him a comfortable 2nd place. Praise is also due to Bournemouth with 6 correct results - he would have scored better if 2 of his 4 wrong results hadn't been the bonus and gamball.
So how can you be one of 3 players to get the gamball result correct but not manage to get into the top 3 places in the week? Let's ask Beefy. He managed it by adopting a negative approach choosing not to use the gamball. 6 points thrown away but he does win this week's Pulis prize for adventurous play. Beef was another one saved by his Sunday, getting all 3 results right. 4eva was the only other player to scrape into positive figures, saved by getting 4 points on the Leicester match.
So on to this week's Minusmen. Vic was at least consistent with negative scores on both Saturday and Sunday but wasting his insurance on his only correct score. Stairs was staring (sorry, couldn't resist it) at a nightmare on Saturday but a correct score and correct result on Sunday turned it into a mildly disturbing dream. Bomber bombed and Baggieone achieved his first negative score of the season so far. And then there was Salop.....saved from a complete blank by Palace's last minute equaliser.

Zin

Championship
4eva’s century will have to wait another week, at least, as he came up 2 points short of it as he held on to top spot for the sixth week running. His 31 point lead from last week has been cut to 22 and a new challenger for his place in Snooty who takes over in 2nd after a stonking seasons best score this week and his 10th successive Insurance Ball save.
His gain is at the expense of Baggieone who slips to 3rd and out of the top 2 for the first time since the opening weeks results and has added only 7 points to his total in the last 5 weeks, he now sits just a single point ahead of 4th placed Bournemouth who continues to make up for only joining after giving everyone else a four week start.
Quantum is this weeks big mover jumping 3 places up to 5th thanks to a season high points score this week helping his first time in the top half since way back in week 2.
Salop slips another place with a disastrous week and now finds himself in 6th, Bomber did close the gap on him despite suffering a similarly painful week, but also dropped a place to 7th just out of reach of BaggieVicar in 8th who had an awful week but not as bad as the two above. Only 2 points split those 3 places after 10 weeks games.
Beefy moved off the bottom into 9th, but will either need a decent week or be brave and use the Gamball if he wants to go any higher.
Which just leaves us with bottom spot or 10th as Stairs would rather it be known, who has returned to normal and suffered his 9th incorrect Gamball from 10.

Worry about your own score Beef, 16 points in 10 weeks isn't cutting it mate Tongue .

And how is 9th of 10 anywhere near mid table Doh still closer to the bottom than 8th Tongue If only you'd been brave with the Gamball it might have been different Doh

I can understand beefy's sudden optimism - this week saw his 2nd best performance of the season.......a mighty 6 points!
Good to see that I'm not the only one to fail miserably with the gamball - thanks for keeping me company Stairs. I do have a plan for this week which should guarantee something to be happy about whatever the gamball score is....
