EU Referendum
Pooch, you are quoting Shy Society which gives a voice to Ann-Marie Waters who was too racist and right-wing even for UKIP. It isn't a site about a silent majority as it proclaims, but for views too ashamed to speak their own name.

You made up "Mayor Khan's" reaction out of your own head Pooch. Sadiq Khan definitely doesn't think there's nothing we can do about terrorism and should just suck it up.

If you were looking for a common thread amongst terrorists here and on the continent, it would be that their interest in Islam is recent - last five years - and they have a skewed and very basic understanding of their own religion. Many of them have become zealous as a result of GOING TO PRISON.

Obviously you have been living in a different world to many of us. At college in Huddersfield our local shop was Pakistani, the restaurant was Indian, and a mixture of languages enriched the lanolin air interspersed bizarrely with English phrases that made us laugh ....

My local Indian in Totnes produces lovely food often served by a lady in a Sari. She's gorgeous. If I go to a Greek restaurant I want a few plates smashed.

I don't want everyone who comes here to be a pale imitation of me. But yes they should speak English as well as their own languages. But please don't be afraid Pooch. It'll rot you from the inside. You're worth more than that AND it is exactly the reaction Daesh would like to see.

Dev no matter which website you look at or TV channel you watch they will all have their own agendas and have a bias towards a political opinion.Even the BBC and ITV are biased towards remaining in the EU its a well known fact .In fact its the 'facts' that are getting bogged down in all the Brexit talk ,you hear experts from each side quoting statistics and forecasts as to how it will go and I guess it depends on whether you are any good at sifting through all the fake news .

Just an aside, a couple of months ago I had to call in at a company in Bradford it was a family company and had been in business 50 years according to the blurb on their website. When I got there the family were Indian Sheiks and the office had about 10 of the family working away on phones and computers complete with turbans. The strange thing to me was that they all spoke with such broad Bradford accents it just seemed a bit surreal. Most ethnic people at least retain some kind of accent or twist on their English vocabulary but these guys were just so naturally broad Yarkshire it really brought a smile to my face.
It might take while Blue but the children of immigrants today will integrate and fit in as you put it to the English way of life whatever that is. We have always been a mixed society going all the way back to Anglo Saxon days. What is the English way of life? Ask the guys up in Bradford and they will have different view to you because of their religion but they are still English or British. Society is a moving monumental mass that changes direction every now and then, determined by its members or the majority. It will always encompass extremes in all areas, wealth, health, opinions, and beliefs. It isn't going to change anytime soon so just enjoy the curries, kebabs or even Chinese (who according to my Grandad when he was alive will end up ruling the world - he was probably correct).

I understand bias Pooch and I understand reliability. If you quote a source as though it is proving something to us it should be a source we can trust. It shouldn't be a source that features a known racist and xenophobe on its home page. AND that alone should tell you not to trust, or believe it either. It was the equivalent of saying, hey look at this great painting and handing me something by a chimp.

Even to bother comparing to-the-right-of-UKIPers with the BBC and ITV just shows how much you are struggling. If you mix outright lies, prejudice, bollocks and the odd dash of fact and a sprinkling of truth all you do is create an even wider group of people who'll believe anything than the apparently more respectable media have already done.

Donald Trump should stand as a warning to Europe and "democracies" worldwide. And Hilary and Bill and even nice Mr Obama should be seriously questioning the political establishment/s that allowed him to win, the media that now is widely protesting about him, and the economy, legal system and power brokers that created a society in which America's ever-growing rust-belt would make a hero out of a man so ill-suited to the role.

When I used to work in university applications the broadest Yorkshire accents turned out to be from applicants called Mohammed and much the same seemed to apply to Glaswegian spoken at a high speed.

We hear every example of failure to integrate, but when integration is happening it just isn't news. And how little do we hear of the failure of white people to make positive moves towards black, brown and yellow people? But then we hear nothing of successes, because they are quiet things, they just happened and people got on with their lives and appreciated each other for what they were.

A black work colleague of mine told me a man once aggressively asked her why she didn't go back to where she came from. So she asked him why he wanted her to go back to Handsworth .......

Wouldn't believe anything the Daily Mail say except the date even then I would double check. They used to support the blackshirts during the 1930s. They mislead and use headlines and write articles that scaremonger the public which it looks like you've fallen for.

Matt ,As I have already said I am quoting various sources which have a bias towards a certain political position.Your statement there just proved your political bias .

One prominent person who i generally tend to agree with is Michael Portillo who ,while a member of a party who I would never vote for ,has always been very fair in his criticism of the Tories just as much as any other party .
