they were outstanding tonight

not only did they stop city scoring
they probably should have won it

they actually attacked city when they could

i know its on the West Brom Board but well done on a great performance wolves
but they showed that city can be got at

wonder what we will do on saturday?

This is the point Gareth
Not only City but against anyone especially your Brighton, Watford's and Southampton's of this world
Why sit back against anyone and wait for them to create chances?
Best form of defence is attack FFS
Not so as we leave ourselves wide open but have a bloody go now and then !! Thumb up

I have a horrible feeling thst Pulis will go gung ho (i.e. only play 2 holding midfielders and allow up to 2 players into City's half at any one time) on Saturday. He'll then use our defeat as a reason why we have to defend at all times.

You can't win if you don't score
You can't score if you don't attack

If we're waiting for Ben Foster to be our top goal scorer and to score our goals from big punts up field thereby allowing ten outfield players to stay in our half, last third even, then we're in trouble.

Hey ho. - this is now another TP thread! And why not?!
Bring back RDM I say. More attacking instinct in his dandruff than TP has in his whole .........head.
Getting more & more p****d off as the days go by with no club reaction. REALLY hope we get a proper pasting on Saturday to force a reaction. Or not.

I like to see the smaller teams in the Premier League give it a go instead of sitting back, playing it defensively and playing it safe. Too many teams like Stoke and I think West Brom fall into this category as well by playing it too safe and parking the bus for 90 minutes or hitting teams on the counter. I also find it weird how teams like yourselves don't go for it in the League Cup or FA Cup. I don't understand this obsession of trying to stay above 18th every season, fans in football remember cup finals and silverware not the season that Swansea for example stayed in the Premier League.

Beefy1965 you've got it spot on that best form of defence is attack. I will say this though West Brom are deadly from set-pieces especially corners when I've seen you on MOTD.

I agree about our set pieces mate, however since Brunt has been dropped we haven't even managed one of those Doh
And as I guess we are stuck with TP I'm afraid park the bus it is.

I do say WHY we are stuck with him...........

Can we not persuade Pulis to apply for the Everton job?
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

I don't understand why you got rid of RDM. He did well with you and got you back into the league first time of asking. TP is an alright manager and has done well at clubs with a small budget but he does play route one with long balls from the back and route one can work but its not always the most attractive. If you pay your money you want to see a football match with both teams going for it not just defending hoping to get a draw or a 1-0 win.

Realistically there are only 4-6 teams in the Premier League which can challenge for the title and the other 14-16 teams just make up the numbers. Leicester was an exception and doubt it will ever be repeated. But if you look at the league tables before the Premier League was formed you had Everton, Liverpool, Derby, Nottingham, Wolves etc challenging for the league and the winner used to change unless Liverpool were winning it.

Because in the middle of a relegation battle, when the team were losing games left right and centre and the defence was conceding goals for fun, RDM was spending his days out on the golf course rather than coaching them.

A nice bloke without a doubt, but he's been found out big-time in the years since surfing his way to the Champions League on the back of a strong Chelsea side. Give him a team who have the confidence and potential and he'll steer them nice and steady towards success, but when the going gets tough he just doesn't know how to turn it round.
