It's back, after the international break, the proper football makes a return as we welcome our South Yorkshire neighbours for our annual live televised fixture against Sheffield Wednesday, not really sure what it is about Sky's fascination with this fixture. Off course Wednesday collected 3 points at the Galpharm with a 2-0 win, we were utter shit in that game and I'm hoping for a better game this time around from the Terriers. Shame it's not at Hillsborough where we always seem to get the win and our record is fantastic, but we'll have to wait till Easter Saturday for our annual 3 point haul at Hillsborough. I assume Wednesday have sold all their ticket, they always do, fair play to them, cannot knock their away following. One thing for sure is that Wednesday and Leeds will fill your away end, come hell or high water. This should make for a good atmosphere and I've got a good feeling about this one. Wednesday are better on the road that at home and have struggled to find the net of late, in fact only 3 goals in the last 9 league games, something we can exploit? We won't play as well as we did against Fulham last time out and lose, that's for sure. Wednesday have made the loan acquisition in the shape of ex Forest midfielder Lewis McGuigan until January as well as ex-Town player Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Played for both and previous meetings

Players who have turned out for both....well the first one that springs to mind is Andy Booth, others include permed legend in Sheffield who played for both Wednesday and United, Terry Curran, most famous in his spell with Town of laying out John Fashanu and getting sent off!!

Terry Curran

Any others anyone? Struggling to think of any to be honest.

The two clubs have met 46 times in the league with Town holding the upper hand by quite a majority, 23 wind to Wednesdays 13. At Town, Wednesday have only won 5 times, 2 of them in the last couple of years, compared to Town's 14 wins, with 4 draws, again some of them draws have come recently. Between 1959 and 2000 the clubs only met 4 times in that period, given Wednesday's poor record against Town, they did manage to win 2 of the 4 meetings, one being a 1-0 win on their way to promotion in 1984.

Nice one, ART.

One great player for both was Colin Dobson who we signed from Wednesday. He was a key player in our 69/70 Championship winning side.
Can't think of any more better than him and the two you mentioned.

The return of the DeeDaas...Sky TV and a silly early kick off, I can't wait.

Bizarrely I'm quite confident we can win this one, hopefully the team will have learnt a harsh lesson in defending and finishing after Fulham the other week and we can go out this Saturday and show the watching public that we can play some decent football as well as doing the nitty gritty stuff.

Town to win 3-1

P.s. Former player who has played for both, little man...big mouth.....Leon Knight

Simon Grayson played for them before finishing off the job that Wor Lee bottled for us. Not quite a played for both but not many seem to have gone between the clubs given our proximity to each other.

As they haven't sacked their manager yet I've an optimistic feeling for this one.

A few more who played for both:
Akpo Sodje
Chris Marsden
Tommy Miller
Alex Bruce had brief loan spells at both clubs
and how could you forget Ronnie Wallwork!

George Stephenson, Simon Grayson and Mark Robins all played for them & managed us

Chris Marsden, another one, like Curran, to have played for Wednesday and United.

then guess what happened today ...i have to work tomorrow, the day of the game, i start work at 6.00 am , guess what time the game starts over here because of the time difference
