Roy trusts Lambert through past performances obviously hasn't seen enough from Berahino to convince him yet, Uncle Roy getting a lot of stick from Albion fans who have short memories by the looks of it

So what was the point of taking Saido out of u21's Roy ?

Not sure what memory's got to do with it; you're going into the last ten minutes of a friendly with a two-goal lead, and have the choice of giving a run-out to an out-of-form player whose career is nearly over, or an in-form one whose career is wide open ahead of him. What logic is there to picking the former? We can't question that decision?

Mixed emotions for me, on one hand I agree with the above. on the other hand it is a "welcome to what will happen" if you move to a big club and become 4th or 5th in the picking order.

Also puzzled by the Lambert substitution but, in a way quite relieved that Saido didn't come on at the end.

What could he have done in the last few minutes and there was always the possibility that he could have got injured.

Quite surprised that there weren't more yellow cards last night with quite a few reckless tackles going in.

Agree THIS MORNING Oh Silver One......but was really annoyed with the fact that he didn't come on last night!
The situation was made for him to have a good 30 min run out Confused

Oh well - maybe he'll have the mentality of still having a point to prove, which should benefit us.

(On the 'reckless tackles' thing, I thought it was a good old fashioned aggresive - but not nasty, sneaky, cheating - match ....apart from when The Ox got blocked out - should've been a red IMO. BAN ALL FOREIGN PLAYERS from the PL, I say!! Blush Angel )

It is a shame that Berahino didn't get on because he deserves it more than Lambert based on this season's form but it is good that he didn't get on because he could have easily got injured and he should now be very motivated to continue his good form so he can eventually get matches for England.

As for England, I actually forget that they were playing because I have no interest in the National team.

No doubt he will have benefitted from the experience of sitting on a coach from Central London to Wembley and a flight to Glasgow. Nothing more illogical than Hodgson's deceision at 3-1 to send on an overweight 32 year old out of form Lambert who is unlikely to feature in the England team in future as opposed to the leading English goalscorer in the Premiership.

I think Uncle Roy likes to give the new boys a squad place without playing them to get a
feel for their attitude before giving them a run out. He did the same with Clyne when he
first called him him.

That's the only logic I can think of, because frankly, Lambert will be 34 come the Euros
and has barely figured this season.

Not only that, but I think it was clear from the start, when Wellbeck was in midfield, that
Roy was sh*t scared of losing this game. I don't think he was willing to try anyone out
because of that.

Our media seem to be raving about the performance but that shows the fine lines in
football. For me, I was underwhelmed at the amount of fear we played with against a
side who were based of predominantly Championship players. There was very little
between the sides and Roy should be more than confident throwing Saido in, he's playing
well at a higher level than much of the opposition.
