FT and 2-2 after being 1-2 up following a cracking 2nd goal of a 'brace' from John McGinn. Hibs played well and unlucky not to win this match. Still, a good result and proves to me again that lotsa Hibs players 'raise their game' for bigger challenges like this one.

Its a measure of how far we've come that i'm sitting here gutted that we didn't get the three points. Both keepers made some excellent saves (and both possibly should have done better for the 2nd goals) Mcginn and stokes had good games and our centre backs were reasonably solid. First half they shaded it,2nd we were the better side.
if only slivka had tracked his runner for the first i think we'd be coming back down the road with 3 points. Celtic certainly knew they had been in a game the day,the manager got the tactics 100% spot on and took the game to them. Need to start winning our home games now.

So close again and disappointed with only one point! Celtic had Sinclair, Griffiths and Roberts on as subs and we were still just as good as them. 4 points from 6 against the New Firm is a great return. Now the trick is to play like that against the bottom six.

Whittaker apparently missed a 'sitter' from about 3 yards off Gordon's goal line. I've not seen this goal incident but, if true, it will just confirm another story of missed chances again in a match that we really should've won.

Even so Jim, surely a 'roofer' of a shot disnae give a goalie any chance of saving it eh - down the years many Hibs forwards, and others, have had a 'habit' of hitting shots at or close to goalies from great scoring positions.

He still had no business getting to that. Great save. Whittaker had a good match by the way,his best so far.
Looking at the highlights i was right, laidlaw should have done better with their second. By the way i'm surprised mcgregor hasn't been called up by strachan with injuries to brown and armstrong,he was by far their best player yesterday. Good atmosphere yesterday in the stadium,i enjoyed the game. |
