Prediction League Tables Week 5
#1
Premiership

DD nailed another Gamball to prove how easy it is  Angry  and then got a correct score on top to eventually end up top scorer with 18 points.
Sanjay, BBB and Twerton all got into double figures due mainly to good predictions on the Gamball as well ……………….. and then there were the rest!!  Doh
Zinman, St Charles and Derby all got 4 correct results to keep them floating either with a zero or just into the positives while Amelia did only get 2 right 1 of them happened to be the Gamball result to save the week and get a solitary point.
MattWBA had a bad start on Saturday but did get the 2 results on Sunday to help him out finishing on -2, so it could have been worse  Thumb up .
Poor old Worldclass got all mixed up and thought he’d posted – but hadn’t so had to take the -3 for the week, chin up though mate, only a couple less than me and I did all 10 matches  Sad .
Beefy  Thumb up

A new leader in the Premiership after DD cracked the Gamball to overtake St Charles who had held top spot for the past 2 weeks. Both have an identical record on the Gamball, but it turned out to be DD’s week as his second successive top weekly score was enough to overhaul St Charles into pole position by a single point.
Sanjay moves up a place to after dropping to 4th last week, this after spending the first 3 weeks in the top 2, so could be getting back into form and while only 9 points separate the top 3, one good week, or bad week for any of them could see it all change. While DD and St Charles have used their Gamball every week and impressed with it, Sanjay has only used 2, the least in the whole division, and proves that you can get a decent points total without it. He does tend to be the exception though as he is the only one in the top 5 to not use it every week.
Risk losing 3 points if you’re wrong or reap the rewards of gaining 12 points in one hit – the choice is yours.
Special mention should go to BBB who despite joining a week late has still managed to get enough points to put him into 4th spot, a canny knack of predicting the Gamball is proving to be a useful weapon for him. Derby makes up the top half of the table lying just a point off BBB but did suffer falling 2 places and dropping out of the top 3 for the first time since the end of week 1.
17 points separates the top half from bottom half where Amelia sits in 6th place having had a couple of low scoring weeks on the trot, giving Twerton the chance to close up in 7th after a good week lifted him a place in the table.
No such upward movement for Zinman as he drops a place to 8th, although not into a relegation spot with the Premiership now carrying 10 predictors.
The bottom 2 are made up of Worldclass who was aghast to realise he had not sent over his predictions for this week so suffered a “1 point less than the bottom scorer of the week” who just happens to be our new recruit Mattwba, handicapped by his starting position and a poor Saturday which didn’t help his cause. The only way is up fellas.

Championship

Another week where the balls played a major part and another excellent week for 4eva who retakes the lead at the top. Credit too to Bournemouth making his debut and managing more points in one week than all but 3 players have managed in the whole season so far.....beginners luck or a sign of another challenger for 4eva and Baggieone? 4 gamball winners this week with 4eva, Bournemouth and Snooty all getting full points - Quantum missed out on 6 points by being as brave as a certain manager.  Bomber suffered with some bad ball play - getting half the results right but losing out on the gamball and bonus, and getting his insurance spot on.
At the bottom this week......just like last week is Minusman, aka Beefy, denied a positive week by a last minute penalty that cost quite a few of us. Beef apparently had a good feeling about this week - I told you it was just wind! Stairs had another bad week, dropping into negative territory while Vic continues his slow (ok very slow!) climb back towards zero points.
Zinman

Well the top 2 in the Championship have chopped and changed for the last 4 weeks, sadly for everyone else 4eva and Baggione are having their own personal battle consistently scoring to open up a fair gap between themselves and 3rd. Not since the end of week 1 has anybody gatecrashed the top 2 spots, which was when Stairs dared to occupy 2nd spot, but more about his demise later.
When you’re mid table or near the bottom a good week and a correct Gamball and Bonus Ball is a dream come true – 4eva, you’d already got plenty of points, there’s no need to rub it in by doing just that. That went a long way to opening up his 8 point lead at the top ahead of Mr Consistency – Baggieone.
Lord Snooty maintained his grip on 3rd place courtesy of the Gamball, living proof that it is a week changing gamble, in fact the top 3 are where they are with the help of very impressive Gamball predictions.
Salop continued with his improved form tightening his hold of 4th place after being as low as 8th only 2 weeks ago, the knack of knowing when to “Gamball” helping his climb, proving to all below him, there is hope.
A new entry in at 5 and making it all look so easy is Bournemouth who managed to muster more points in his first week than the five below him in 5 weeks. Beginners luck, or a shrewdy – we’ll see over the coming weeks.
Bomber plods along in 6th picking up points here and there, no sign of threatening those above and for the time being having a bit of a cushion to those below.
Quantum is this weeks biggest upwardly mobile mover bagging 7th place thanks to a steady week for him and an unsteady week for those below, but a move into the positives is a good starting point to begin an improvement in form.
Beefy drops another spot to 8th and just manages to keep his score above zero, any thoughts of mounting a push up the table after climbing to 4th in week 3 seem to have evaporated dropping 2 two positions for the last 2 weeks on the trot.
The success story of the week has to be BaggieVicar who has hauled himself off the bottom of the table for the first time this season. Maybe a few prayers at Sunday service and keeping the faith have been a contributory factor or it could be that Stairs who has been in freefall since week 2 has finally hit the ground with a bang. Stairs singlehandedly disproves the theory that playing the Gamball is a risk worth taking by getting a -4 for his troubles 5 weeks running. At least now Stairs, the only way is up.
