Been cut to 6/4 now .Probably means that he or the club are at least interested.
I genuinely hope we get him ,hes ready for the step up now .Perhaps with an experienced guy as assistant

Is he what we need though. When the Titanic needed to change course it just kept ploughing on, the rest is history. I firmly believe we need a short term hard fix then bring in a nice guy. Jack Lester doesn't strike me as a hard fix.

If Ronnie Moore's your idea of a short-term hard fix Dancing, you need to start rearranging the deckchairs and join the orchestra. You'll soon be sliding down the deck with the rest of us. (In this scenario is Dave Allen the iceberg by the way?)
Take a look where your philosophy ended for Hartlepool and Tranmere.
Do you really think HMS Chesterfield has had a discernible course? Saunders, Wilson and Caldwell have almost nothing more in common than white, male ex-player. Certainly the only consistent course from the owner's point of view has been the self-destruct button being regularly pushed.
We could try Jimmy Armfield, he's even older than Ronnie Moore and he's intelligent, wise and trustworthy all fairly new characteristics to the club. And even better he doesn't want the job.
Maybe Sam Hird could be the new Eddie Howe ............ just a thought.

No Dev, Dave Allen is the captain. He's the only one with the insurance policy and the first one in the lifeboat. The iceberg would be Gary Caldwell who has left us with a gaping hole down one side and too much weight on the other.
I just don't think that a new young manager would be right for us. Whoever it is needs to get a ramshackle bunch of players to give their all for the cause. The players having a pop at fans and the Evatt issues, to me indicates the dressing room is not good. It needs a short term turn around to get everybody on the same side and all pulling in the same direction. More importantly they need to want to play for us.
We witnessed on Saturday some total apathy in the first half with 1 or 2 players pulling their weight in the second. Considering its rumored the players asked Carson for a stay of execution, it must have been that they wanted 1 last weeks holiday before he went.

I don't think it matters if an inexperienced manager or an experienced manager comes in there going to find it tough.

I can't see what kind of experience would help. None of the recently-relegated clubs is like us. None of the recalcitrant owners is like ours. And I've never EVER EVER seen a squad like ours.
I think it is a tough job for anyone, experienced or virgin BUT the one thing that isn't that difficult is achieving the number of points necessary.
One name you never read about in the running for jobs is Jim Bentley, but keeping Morecambe in the league is almost miraculous.

It sounds as if we are going to be hiring an out of work manager and not paying compo for a manager.

Im hearing that we never pay compo for a manager but we paid for Cookie .Now I wonder if we have to pay much out for Jack because the bookies have him at 1/5 now
Dancing so you thought the players didn't show passion at the end on Saturday when they were confronting the fans or vice versa ?.

There's passion and there's stupidity. If you went to your employers and told them they were wankers were would you end up? You might think it but you don't say it. The fans are rightly disgruntled but its them that pay the players wages. The players shouldn't forget that.
As I have said before, if the rumors are true and the players asked for GC to be given more time, they had a strange way of showing loyalty on Saturday to both him and the fans especially Dennis.
Somebody on Bobs Board claims Chris Powell is very interested in the job. If that's true then 1 would be very happy with that.

I think Chris Powell is a good bloke.
Whether he could cope in our situation I don't know.
I always thought Jack Lester had a very high opinion of himself. In our situation I thought that might be a very good characteristic.
Ravanelli is an interesting name.
He has a philosophy for Pooch too.
Unfortunately his 8.33% win ratio as manager of Ajaccio is a bit frying pans and fires.
