The changes in the WBA squad since Pulis took over in January 2015 are pretty remarkable, he's moved the squad on a lot.

Yes, it is progress, though I would have liked some of that 2015 squad to be given more of a chance to show what they could do. And of course it's now a question of how he uses what we've got.
Still, it's looking good at the moment.

The fact that none of the 2014/15 rejects have gone on to make a name anywhere else (barring perhaps Brown Ideye, but even then, not in the Premier League) suggests to me that we were always on a hiding to nothing with them.

As an aside, the top graphic is slightly wrong in that Alan Irvine had dropped McAuley as a CB and was using Dawson there instead, while Norman Wisdom played RB. That's one more improvement that Pulis made on coming in, to his credit.

I look at that 2015 side, and genuinely wonder how he kept us up! I can only presume that not one of the scouting team responsible for that summers dubious arrivals are still at the club.

He kept us up by playing deep. organised the defence, tried a counter attacking game but alas apart from Sess no real pace and depended on set pieces Wink
Sound Familiar ?
I hope people realise now why he had to do this,
Now the class of 2017 hopefully may be better at all the above mix a bit of flair and more pace.
And bombers your uncle Thumb up
