My only 'gripe' with Lenny re team selection was why Slivka ended up on the subs' bench when he was one of our top performers last Saturday at Ibronx? That decision didn't make any sense and proved in this match in the critical mid area where we were outplayed and looking vulnerable! Also IMO the manager needs to 'tighten up' our defence - a strong 'back line' was one of our main strengths in recent times and I wanna see that defence being solidified asap! Agreed re the loss of big Marv's physical presence and the next league match at Dens Park will confirm if this Hibs team does indeed have a bit of 'backbone' about it and recovers with a positive result.

aye,the day was a real head scratcher. Maybe he was carrying a knock ?

The real disappointment is i just can't believe how badly we defended the day. 2 of the goals were absolute gifts from hanlon.Defence was the strongest part of our team last season.

I must admit to liking Paul Hanlon as a player, but when he does make a mistake, it's usually crucial to the result. Is he a Championship defender playing in the Premiership?

Can't believe Slovak was dropped either the guy played well at Ibrox and scored a raker o a goal and today Neil Lennon brings in Danny Swanson who was woefull he never made a pas to a hibs player yet.
Whittaker also was useless at right back john McGinn posted missing in midfield.

Thought the penalty was really soft Paul Hanlon then laid the second on a plate and to be honest they took the piss with the third. Even though stokes pulled one back we where very poor all over the park today.

Better getting that poor performance out the road early in the season lets go to dundee next week and bring the 3 points away with us

Aye 3 points at the albert kidd dome would do the trick. But somehow i think keeping a clean sheet is what we need to do this time.

Fingers crossed that this is just a 'wake up call' and I think Lenny is wise enough re the reasons why this awful result came about and what to do to remedy it. I previously mentioned that the manager has a good selection of 1st team squad players and he'll want to identify what he thinks is Hibs best line up. Today's duff result will certainly provide him with 'food for thought' on that very subject and how to change things to gradually evolve a formidable Hibs side that will not be so easily beaten in the coming weeks and months ahead.

As much as the performance was poor, remember we had chances to be comfortable in the game before the interval.

Oh aye! That's a good point and it endorses that old saying re 'taking your chances' when they arise! The defensive criticism has to be addressed and that leads to my old saying that you don't lose games if you 'keep the back door firmly shut'!
