In the past we've had a thread for the U21s and Academy games so I thought I'd create another one for this season. U21s has now changed to U23s by the way, as the season goes on and Town put the content up I'll add it on here(or somebody else can if I'm not about)

First up

Town U23s 1 v 1 Charlton Pathetic U23s.

Steve Weaver has left his role as Academy manager.
So what can we read into this? Not doing well enough so sacked? Or do we have a top name lined up for the role now that we are a Premier League club?

Think this is another step in the revolution of the academy. Webber's mate so think Moss probably had a say in it and wants his own man.

Agree with elt, his face probably didn't fit this regime, much like lillis' didnt fit with webber. Weaver probably wasnt helped with what he and webber said when he first joined and now his mate left, he had made a rod for his own back.

Odds on someone from celtic coming?

Tony Carss gone now. Looks like the Academy is getting an overhaul. Another victim of the club's success.

I wouldn't say he's a victim of the clubs success, I'd be more inclined to suggest its not meeting the expectations, despite success at the club on various levels.

The academy needs a complete overhaul if rumours are to be believed in that the youth scouts are proverbial dinosaurs in regards to what they look for. I'd imagine that weaver and carss leaving is just the tip of the iceberg and that some of it we wont actually see

Agree. Think the scouting system needs a massive overhaul and as much of this will be Wagner saying these kids aren't good enough but I want to play them so him and David Moss have cracked the whip. Not enough results and only Jordan Williams and Ryan Schofield out of the next crop looks anywhere near good enough from reports.
