WBA Transfer Window - Final Day
Well, we've got a pretty cushy start to the season and if we're to finish mid-table we need points on the board by November.
So new players really need to be bedded in asap. If we get a poor start I will be worried.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

Does anyone else think we don't really need a centre back desperately this window? We have Evans, Mcauley, Hegazi, and Dawson who are all good there. Think we should focus on getting at least one proper full back and a centre midfielder, maybe an attacking signing too.

We need a goal scorer, a poacher, a finisher. Some one who knows where the back of the net is and can put the ball there, on a regular basis. (Like 3 times a match). Wishful thinking.

I know it's probably only paper talk ...... but 15 million for another sicknote defender from Barcelona, I hope it is just media talk, vermaelen played less football than Jay Rod, and that's a lot of money.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking also, but would be better to see us bring in a couple in midfield so that it frees up Leko and Field for an opportunity to get some regular football on loan.

Still plenty of time for deals to take place and us taking our time over getting the right people in is more important than our image in the press for not jumping at the first deals and prices we're given.

Chadli signed late into August, as did Jonny Evans. Also going back further Odemwingie did and that's just a few I know of going from memory. I'm sure if not at work and had the time to research it I bet I could find more examples to see quite a large proportion of our signings getting made late in the window.

Does anyone know what his injuries were just out of interest? I didn't really keep track of him once he left Arsenal and with him seldom playing for Barca I didn't even realize that's were he'd moved to.

Don't think there is such a thing as a 'cushy' game in the Premiership Saft - just some are maybe less difficult than others.  That said, many of our supposed 'cushy' opponents have been big spenders and may not be as 'cushy' as we would have hoped.

Hey Bairdy !
Not seen you on here for some time - nice to see you back!
You been 'transported' to Australia or something?

On top of the 6 players we already have out, Dawson and Rondon are "rested" for tonight game.

Its 9 days until the season opener and we are having to field a second half team including Wilson, O'Shea, Howkins, Melbourne, Harpery, Tulloch, Roberts, Edwards. No disrespect to our academy players and this will have been a good experience for them, but the fact we are having to, just 9 days before the season kicks off.

Am I OK to starting worrying a little yet?
