It doesn't make much sense but Gibson is a fair bit younger and his club actually wants to keep him, let's see what happens with Smalling anyway, I'd be very happy with him but I'm not yet convinced we'll get him or that they'd accept 10m.

Ha ha. Well it is. My daughters both do German language and history and so we are having slightly more than a long weekend in Berlin to do the tourist bit.

The alcohol and food binge will be in Italy, back end of August with friends and no children. Pass the Nurofen Meltlets - I swear they are the best thing on this planet when it comes to recovery!

Anyone going to the friendly against Burton Albion on Wednesday?  

I went to Staffs & West Midlands Army Cadet Force 'Friends' meeting this evening and one of the fellow trustee's is the partner of Ben Robinson, Burtons chairman, and knowing I was a Baggie, they have invited me and t' missus to the game and pre-match meal.

Probably be in the boardroom so I'll keep my ear to the ground might get a spippet or two if any Baggies execs are there. On the other hand, it might be a pie and bovril on t' terraces!

It's Walsall for me tomorrow night, couldn't really miss it as it's our closest away game of the season...

Defender link but just reading the article and with mentions of £30m I don't see why the papers are suggesting we could be interested. I
