Champions League qualifier 1st leg v Linfield

I'm amazed that Sparky is currently being charged with incitement by UEFA after a match in which it was very clear who the main aggressor was from start to finish and there was every chance that these lunatics were gonna try to invade the pitch for the slightest reason.

Aye,incitement in an empty stadium. He tied the scarf round the post during the warm down. Bizarre.

Celtic play the 2nd leg tie tonight at Celtic Park and I wonder if Brendan Rodgers will plan for an absolute 'going over' of Linfield after the off field events that have somehow drawn Celtic into UEFA criticisms after the club's pre-match attempts to remove any fans' confrontation with the Linfield 'lunatic fringe'. I'll predict a 4-0 or 5-0 'doing'.

A stupid terrorist banner. They will get clobbered for it and rightly so.

Thing is linfield are hardly sensitive wee souls either, their fans spent all the other weekend burning anything green or remotely catholic on bonfires then ran greating to UEFA cos sparky tied a scarf to their goals.

Actually to be fair it was the green brigades skeleton logo dressed up in terrorist garb, rather than the depiction of an actual terrorist.

They will still get done for it tho.

I agree its a bit OTT, but Griffiths needs to learn to just stop putting himself in this position. While tying a scarf around the post is a nothing crime, it was done by him for a reason and there is just no need for that. I would hope Rogers will have a word with him and just tell him to leave his statements to scoring goals!!
